Cancer. Do you remember Andy?

It kills so many here in the US. No matter the cause, it just does.

Kids, adults, moms and dads, brothers and sisters.

I remember folks raising money for Andy - just to get him the treatment he needed. I remember the RW nutjobs protesting his need for the money and care.

How is it that in this country we have people needing to go online and raise money simply to get the care they need?

You want to see how much our health care system needs reform you have no further to look than here on DU.

A good man died over it all.

Every day someone here is suffering because we have a health care system that is based on profit.

9/11 etc - the RW keeps preaching to us about keeping people safe, all the while folks here are dying because they have no care.

Cancer. Heart Disease. Etc. Who are we to deny care to people that need it? Most all of the rest of the world has a health care system in place to help people, why don't we?

Who the hell would tell someone that in order to save their life they need more money?

We have lost too many people already to this crap. We expect our citizens to fork over tax dollars for roads, wars, etc, and when they ask in return for basic health care we tell them it is too costly.

If you are serious about saving lives, why aren't you for a health care system that takes our money and puts it towards helping folks in need?

The California piggy primitive, who lives in Streisandian luxury and opulence out in California; one wonders how many sick people could be helped on her surplus real estate:

1. I remember Andy...

I contributed to his surgery, and he thanked me...

I still have his emails to me, and the photos he sent...

I condemn with the most anger I can summon the bastards who condemned him to death...

It makes me weep, to see us neglect those who need our help the most...

6. I remember Andy too

I remember all his hard work to make our votes count, even when he was so sick.

RIP Andy

2. Quality healthcare should be a public amenity which is ubiquitous as streets and highways.

The depth of my pockets is not an issue when I walk down the sidewalk. The sidewalk is there for everyone.

4. Of course I remember Andy. I also contributed to his "fund" though it was certainly a small amount. It was all I could do, however, to give this small amount for a man I had a lot of respect for. I am still very proud of what we attempted to do for Andy, even though he didn't survive.

5. I also remember that he specifically asked us to work for single payer but those few who tried to organize that effort here didn't meet with much success.

What will it take?????

9. I didn't know Andy. He must have been before my time.

By reading these lovely posts about him, I wish I had. Health care is a human right.

R-I-P Andy ... you'll never be forgotten.

I dunno; despite Fat Che's best efforts, the late red round one has evaporated from wikipedia.

Hey DUmmies...ENOUGH ALREADY!!!

Liberalism Is The Philosophy Of The Stupid

The libs/dems of today are the Quislings of former years.  The cowards who would vote a fraud into office in exchange for handouts from the devil.

All the donations and crap were completely and utterly unnecessary.  The Red Red Robber could have bob bob bobbed along with the Rolls-Royce of Health Care available right down the street from his home in Washington state.  It would have been immediate and cost-covered.

Butttt NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.  The Dead Red One had to complicate his life (and death).  The Dead Red One was a typical liberal.  He could not accept facts and reality as the truth.  Reality had to be what he fashioned it to be.

Being a liberal can be dangerous to your health.  Liberalism can and will kill you.  It's a form of suicide.

They think Obamacare will fly people to their hospital of choice and cover food and lodging for someone to accompany them?

The periodic tearful handwringing by Primitives over this guy is pathetic.

Alas! the poor late red round one! alas!

Now remembered only by some primitives on Skins's island--and not even a substantial proportion of the circa 5,000 primitives at that--having otherwise been long ago forgotten by the real world.

Alas! the poor late red round one! alas!

Remembered only by God and a few primitives.

Andy died of a staph infection.  Obamacare will not prevent deaths due to staph infection.  The right wing didn't give Andy a staph infection.  That is all.

Then you're "condemning with the most anger" Andy himself, though you'll never allow yourself to see that fact for the truth that it is.  He should have had the surgery in his own home state and has no one but himself to blame for delaying the procedure in order to go elsewhere.  His choice, and he owns the consequences.

Do it for Andy!!! If we'd had single-payer he might not have ended up in a hospital full of cockroaches and silverfish, thus inducing a staff infection that caused his death. Poor little Ballot would have 2 daddies instead of just one (but at least the one left was the one with money so he'll be well cared for).

If parading the corpse of fat Ted can't get the healthcare bill passed, I hardly believe digging up scamming Andy is going to work.

Oh **** that fat ****er! His idea of making a living was scamming moonbats out of their welfare money for the next conspiracy down the pike! They'd never even had heard of him if it hadn't been for the other fat one, Bev, of Diebold black box fame!

Not without fixing it.   :evillaugh:

Payments to foreign governments must be reduced, if the nation doesn't want to go bankrupt. People must again learn to work, instead of living on public assistance.”
