President Obama, the pinata.

President Obama is quickly becoming a punching bag for all sides. Much of it is his own making. When he said "change you can believe in", the liberals of his Party took him at his word. They do not see bailing out the banks and corporations as "change". They do not see incremental steps to further enrich the insurance companies as "change".

After 8 years of George W Bush, the last thing that Democrats wanted was a continuation of any of those policies. The wars in Iraq and Afghanistan leave a very bitter after-taste. Most liberals want us out of both wars. Whether that is wise or not is another question.

As expected, the Republicans are whacking the hell out of the President. If he naively expected them to support him, then he is getting his just dessert. The Republicans smell blood. They criticize everything the President proposes, even if it is a speech to students to stay in school and work hard. They say he is trying to propagandize them with socialistic slogans.

Now, it is all about President Obama. Everyone is slapping at him with a stick. This is a critical moment in his presidency. If he does not fight back, then he will be destroyed. Not only by the Republicans, but also by those in his own Party who are deeply disappointed in his support and defense of the corporations and Wall Street. This health care fight is his Rubicon. Either he crosses the river or he continues to be beaten to a pulp.

1. I keep waiting for the big comeback line...and it never seems to come.

Hopefully the speech on Wednesday will be so good, so persuasive, that we can see a turn around. We know that Obama can do it.

Yay, a speech, that's the ticket.  :-)

Sorry to tell you this "Inspired", but I'm betting that almost nobody watches his speech.
People are SICK of SEEING him, people are SICK of HEARING him.  He's not going to convince anybody of anything, except the fact that his ego makes him put his big eared head on TV every two weeks.
Help keep America beautiful...deface a liberal.

The Democrat and Republican parties are simply the left and right wings of the same bird of prey.

The road to freedom is paved with dead liberals.

Y'know, that's the nature of the Presidency, and the whole Executive function.

When you are an elected rep, or a candidate, you can get by on squabbling with the opposition and making a name for yourself in those generally time-wasting process battles.

When you become the HMFIC, you have to make the country work for everyone, not just one party.  If Obama had ever held a governorship, he might have had a slight clue about this.

Of course I apologize in advance for my unforgivable racism in daring to mention this...

You know Reagan was fought tooth and nail over everything by the dims. Heck Ted Kennedy even plotted with the soviets to derail him yet he had the courage and strength to do his job.

Gorge W Bush also had the whole world against him he rolled up his sleeves and did his job too.

That is the difference between us and them. They whine and cry we roll up our sleeves and go to work.

Exactly...you never heard Bush whine and blame everyone else. I am so sick of Obama blaming everyone else for his failures. Own up Obama and you may just get a sliver of respect.
