It's unclear exactly how the amphibian's remains got into the can of Diet Pepsi.

FDA confirms frog or toad was in Florida man Fred Denegri's Diet Pepsi can

ORMOND BEACH, Fla. — The Food and Drug Administration says a test shows that either a frog or a toad was in a Florida man's soda can, but it's not clear how it got there. The FDA confirmed the remains of an animal were in Fred Denegri's can of Diet Pepsi. Denegri popped open the can July 23 as he was grilling dinner in Ormond Beach. He thought the animal was a rodent.

Pepsi spokesman Jeff Dahncke says the company is aware of the testing and stands by its manufacturing process. The can was traced back to a plant in Orlando that produces about 1,250 cans a minute.

Dahncke says the speed of production lines and rigorous quality control make it virtually impossible for a frog or toad to get into a can.

But seriously...if that thing DID get into his Diet Pepsi can...that is freaky as all hell and it looks as if the plant needs to do a little better on quality control.

6. When I was 18 I worked in a Polaroid plant...

I worked for Manpower, as did a lot of the employees in Polaroid's Norwood, MA plant. One of my jobs was bringing pallets full of camera part and film cases to the various assembly lines. They, like Pepsi's, moved damned fast. But not fast enough from keep occasionally bored and underpaid smart-ass kids from dropping stuff inside the packages as the whisked along the line. The standard "Help me! I'm being held prisoner in a sweatshop!" notes were always popular. I understand Pepsi trying to protect its reputation, but to say it's not possible because of the speed of the production line is b.s. There's always a disgruntled, underpaid, about-to-be-fired or just plain bored worker at every factory who is willing to pull this kind of stuff.
