Levi Johnston should have thought twice before he spilled the beans on Sarah Palin in this month’s Vanity Fair magazine. In an article called ‘Me and Mrs. Palin’, the 19-year-old father of Tripp ‘turns a number of commonly held beliefs about the former governor – the purportedly loving mother, devoted wife, and prolific hunter – upside down’.

Hang on a minute: this is the grandmother of his son. Whatever you make of the Republican politician, she doesn’t come off worse in this lazy, base ‘exposé’ - Johnston does. And how is he going to explain this interview to his son one day?

Is the interview salacious? Well, judging by the morsels we’ve been given before the magazine hits our shelves, it’s desperately weak.

These include the revelation that, after campaigning with John McCain, ‘Sarah was sad for a while. She walked around the house pouting’. Ok, Levi, you’re really hooking my attention here. ...

I've read that he is claiming that Sarah wanted/offered to adopt Tripp.  Either way, I'm sure that Sarah will play a big role in Tripp's life.

He said a whole lot of stuff strangely all his 'quotes' of what Sarah said sounded exactly like what a whiny adolescent would say.  :whatever:

Sarah Palin, the former governor of Alaska who built her reputation on her rugged application of motherhood, does not actually fish and has no idea how to use her own gun, according to her daughter's former boyfriend. Levi Johnston, the teenager who Mrs Palin embraced as part of her family last year when it emerged during the presidential campaign that he had impregnated her 17-year-old daughter, turned against the family in an interview with Vanity Fair, painting the former governor as a selfish woman who took little interest in her children.

He claimed that Mrs Palin, whose fans boasted she could "field dress a moose", was incapable of handling a gun kept in the family home in Wasilla.

"She says she goes hunting and lives off animal meat - I've never seen it," said Mr Johnston, 19. "I've never seen her touch a fishing pole.

"She had a gun in her bedroom and one day she asked me to show her how to shoot it. I asked her what kind of gun it was, and she said she didn't know, because it was in a box under her bed."...

So what was all the fuss about shooting wolves? The left can't even keep their stories straight.

No, my friends, there’s only one really progressive idea. And that is the idea of legally limiting the power of the government. That one genuinely liberal, genuinely progressive idea — the Why in 1776, the How in 1787 — is what needs to be conserved. We need to conserve that fundamentally liberal idea. That is why we are conservatives. --Bill Whittle

Dear Levi,

You been hitting your mommy's Oxy stash again while she's in the can?

Poor Levi.  All he wanted was some under-aged condomless nookie and he ended up a dad and a political figure.  No wonder he's so bitter.

I have to assume Mr. Palin has taken to drinking heavily in an effort to numb his desires to wring necks all over the place.

Either that, or he's an incredibly strong man.  I'm guessing the latter, actually, because I don't see a strong woman like Mrs. Palin being tied to a wuss.

Back on topic, enjoy your 15 minutes Levi.  Tick tock.

Todd does show tremendous restraint. I'm sure his fatherly instincts must be going nuts.

I'd say she's thanking God several times a day for wising up and not marrying the twit.

Palin: "No, I don't want the retarded baby"
 http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/washington/2009/09/sara...

Says Johnston: "I couldn't believe it when she would come over to us and sometimes say, playing around, 'No, I don't want the retarded baby -- I want the other one' and pick up Tripp. That was just her, even her kids were used to it."

Does that still apply since she is no longer in office?

I think Levi himself is still open to slander if he is lying.

Libel and Slander - The Public Figure Doctrine: An Unworkable Concept?
The "public figure" doctrine announced by the Supreme Court in Curtis Publishing v. Butts, 388 U.S. 130, 87 S. Ct. 1975, 18 L. Ed. 2d 1094 (1967), held that prominent public persons had to prove actual malice (knowledge of falsity or reckless disregard of whether a statement is true or false) on the part of the news media in order to prevail in a LIBEL lawsuit. Prior to Butts only public officials had to prove actual malice. In the years since this decision, the public figure doctrine has proved a troublesome area of the law, primarily because it is difficult to apply with any consistency. Some, generally from the news media, have called for making it easier to classify a person as a public figure. Others believe that a strict line must be maintained between public and private figures, so as to prevent the damaging of personal reputations by the media. Both sides agree that greater clarity is needed in defining what constitutes a public figure.

Hold on Sparky,

Would Levi have dated Sara's daughter had Sara been working at the Shaved Beaver Bar and Grill ?

I don't think so, I think Levi would have been chomping at the bit to date an older woman.
I cannot see how the daughter and the boy toy got together in the first place.

The daughter is so calm and almost perfect, the Boy is a Jock looking for excitement.

Note that he seldom mentions his sons mother, everything is about SARA, her clothing, the number of minutes she spends in her bath, what she can or cannot do, even into her sex life-------Darn the Boy is Besotted with her.

Like most Jilted men, they will have nothing good to say about the woman that they cannot controll.

He ignores his own family and their history, he needs an excuse to explain his own actions that perhaps even he doesn't understand.

Yupo----That Dude is off on a vengeance to blame anyone for his behavior.  He has so far screwed up his young life, he has no idea what he wants in life.  I expect we will be hearing about him from time to time, nothing good.

So he has the right to judge the family his son comes from yet ignores the family that raised him--------HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA. :rotf:
