Thundering Thursday
« on: September 03, 2009, 05:41:54 AM »
Clear and cool here, just north of Albany.  No idea what we're doing yet--my wife may take The Heiress grocery shopping, then who knows?

I found out that I may have to cantor on Saturday, last night.  Seems that the cantor who was supposed to do it came down with a nasty stomach bug--at 5 PM last night.  She's the daughter of the music director/organist, so it's not a "shirking" thing.  And, yes--I volunteered to fill in.  (I also volunteered my cantoring "mentor," who wasn't upset.)
"Timid men prefer the calm of despotism to the tempestuous sea of Liberty." - Thomas Jefferson

"All you have to do is look straight and see the road, and when you see it, don't sit looking at it - walk!" -Ayn Rand

"Those that trust God with their safety must yet use proper means for their safety, otherwise they tempt Him, and do not trust Him.  God will provide, but so must we also." - Matthew Henry, Commentary on 2 Chronicles 32, from Matthew Henry's Commentary on the Whole Bible

"These anti-gun fools are more dangerous to liberty than street criminals or foreign spies."--Theodore Haas, Dachau Survivor

Chase her.
Chase her even when she's yours.
That's the only way you'll be assured to never lose her.

Supposed to hover at about 80 today.  First High School baseball game (fall ball) this afternoon/evening.   But there is also football practice, so I'm not sure yet which one I'm going to (I'll let Mr Flame decide).

I need to do my least favorite chore today...vacuuming.  Usually I can get the kiddos to do it, but since they started school, I'm stuck with it.

Heavy rain, thunder, lightning here this morning.  Traffic is nutz this morning...they're all skeeeeerd of the rain I guess.
Had 3 deer standing in my driveway this morning.  They were not amused at having to get out of the way.
Anyone starting the holiday weekend early?

Thunder and rain, lightning and rain, electricity constantly going out, in the Sandhills of Nebraska this morning.

One of my bad days--darn, the temperature is 64 at 9 Am.

I am keeping a log in order to find out what triggers a bad day.   Could I be allergic to something in the house, food, water,>

Beautiful out there, but I think I need to sleep again, Tomorrow I know I will feel well, This stuff comes and goes.

Rain's in the forecast? I thought they took it out  :banghead:

As long as it's all out of here before Saturday.....rain on an outdoor wedding will really suck... :o

Finishing reports this morning, already picked up stuff from friend's house, then grocery shopping for tomorrow's cooking, then to the bride's parents' house to start set up and finish table decorations....figure out what I'm missing.

I need chocolate...  :hyper:
Just hand over the chocolate...back away slowly...far away....and you won't get hurt....

A balanced diet is chocolate in both hands.

Col here this morning, with a high near 80.  No rain until Monday or Tuesday.  Grocery shopping with the wife later today.  It's the 3rd of the month, maybe we'll wait until Monday.

Sadly, not getting an early start on the weekend, and I'm dreading driving on the Spaulding Turnpike with all the Massholes who ARE getting the early start through the road construction.  Looks like I'm taking the back roads today and tomorrow.
