ScienceDaily (Sep. 1, 2009) — Chronic alcohol consumption blunts the biological clock’s ability to synchronize daily activities to light, disrupts natural activity patterns and continues to affect the body’s clock (circadian rhythm), even days after the drinking ends, according to a new study with hamsters.
Why study this effect on hamsters? They could have gone to most college campuses to reach the same conclusion.
They might not have been able to get the college students to avoid alcohol for a few days to study the long term effects.
