Wow.  Best of luck to you...  Losing one of your senses really stinks.  I walked right into some girl at work, didn't even see her.  And I almost walked into some guy carrying his Big Guzzle of soda without a lid :(.  Being visually impaired is a huge pile of suck.

Thanks Chris!  The one thing that I am sure of is that God has a sense of humor.  He's left me with my sense of taste in tact. I quit smoking in October of 2006 and was reacquainted with my taste buds!   :hammer:

Hang in there buddy!  I've been following your posts.  Things will get better.   For both of us.  :-*

My boss is not happy with my every-other-week doctor appointments.  He asked me if it was interfering with "my work".   :bird:

I have hearing "issues" as well, but opposite of yours.  I hear everything...equally.  In a crowded room, I hear everything at the same volume.  It's extremely difficult for me to sort out one particular voice...even if that person is sitting right next to me.

Yikes!  Have you been to an ENT or an audiologist?

In a sense, my hearing aids do (some what) the same thing.  Background noise makes me crazy!  It took me a while to learn to tone out the ceiling fans / motors on drink boxes / birds chirping, etc.

Do you have what I call "head noises"?  The medical term is tinnitus.  It's hard to describe but it's a constant buzzing or ringing.  Most of the time I can ignore it.  A bad sinus infection intensifies it.  UGH!

Asshole!

Make sure you document EVERYTHING!  What was said, by whom, day/date/time and did co-workers see/hear the exchange.  The Americans with Disabilities Act protects you but discrimination of this type is VERY hard to prove.  That statement there is reason enough to start watching your back my friend.  Keep a journal, religiously.

No docs yet for me.  My wife just swears I have "selective hearing"...she has a soft voice and insists on talking to me from another room while the tv is on and the dishwasher is running...I "can't hear her"...meaning I heard her, but her voice just got lost with everything else.  Yes, I've always heard a background humming.  I can also hear very high-pitched tones...above what "normal" folks can hear.

Agreed.  Statements like that are out of line.

Today was a nice day.  I didn't do much at work.  :)

I went to Barnes & Noble after work and picked up Murdered by Mumia and The Other Boleyn Girl.   :)

TOTD:  I've never had a problem with seeing the doctor.  I've had the same general practitioner since I was 10.  He's a great doctor, very nice, to the point and no BS.

TOTD:  I live in HCA country.  It's never been a problem finding a doctor around here... you can't throw a stick without hitting at least one.  I've never disliked going to the doctor.  I used to live across the street from an enormous hospital.

I could do without the waiting.  It's always so BORING.  You wait half an hour for a five-minute checkup.

Wednesday's snowstorm in Nashville...

That was taken at 3:00 from my office window...

This was taken at 3:15.

And this was taken at 3:30.
It came and went like that all day.

neat pics lug!!! I LOVE Nashville. I would move there in a heartbeat because I'm from Memphis and I would love to get closer to my family. And get away from here! LOL.
I can see November 2 from my house!!!

No, my friends, there’s only one really progressive idea. And that is the idea of legally limiting the power of the government. That one genuinely liberal, genuinely progressive idea — the Why in 1776, the How in 1787 — is what needs to be conserved. We need to conserve that fundamentally liberal idea. That is why we are conservatives. --Bill Whittle
