Why do they call us greedy?

For years the left have called us greedy because we don't govt taking care of us and taxing us into poverty.

Conservatives want to go to work, pay what we consider to be fair taxes so our Govt can live up to its constitutional responsibilities and be left alone.

Conservatives are also not afraid of learning from mistakes we make, and trying to do it right the second time around.

Liberals want everything to be free to them. They claim that they want the poor to be taken care when the truth is they want everything to be free for them. They may be making $8 an hour and think it's not fair that someone is making $20 an hour. So instead of trying to figure out how they too can make $20 an hour they want that person knocked down so they can be as miserable as the libs are.

Liberals are afraid of making mistakes and want a safety net so they don't have to modify their behavior.

Depends on your definition of greed I suppose. To me greed is wanting and trying to take away from others.

Both are bad in my opinion, and really they are two sides of the same coin.  Both are results of loving objects too much, but one from the perspective of a person who possesses the item, and the other from a person who does not.

The real issue is that liberals mis-define conservative behavior as greedy. Conservatives, in general, want to have control over where the money they earn go, but multiple studies have shown the conservatives are much more generous individuals than liberals.  We believe that we can best determine how to use our money to help others.  Liberals look at the fact that we dislike the government taking our money to spend on others, without looking at where the money actually ends up going.

Sounds a bit more like personal responsibility rather than greed.  They must call it greed, because personal responsibility/accountability is a concept foreign to most liberals.

There's a difference between being greedy and self-centered.  I'd argue that conservatism/capitalism/free-marketism promotes a self-centered lifestile... i.e thinking self-outward rather than society-inward.  Family and friends are most important and society should be working in a local emphasis and federal being the reserve power.

I find that many against capitalism or conservatism don't understand this way of prioritizing and that's what makes them hate us.  They find it 'heartless' and 'incompassionate'.  To them, our 'greed' (really, our possession of self and family first) is evil.
