9/11 really affected people on the East Coast as it affected the area. 9/11 is really a national and international tragedy. Sadly, more than 3,000 people will die from 9/11 because of all the exposure to dust, smoke, and toxic chemicals. It could be as well be 10,000 dead as initially feared on that fateful day.

It's interesting to watch this thread and note, like other milestone events, everyone remembers where they were, and what they where doing on 9/11. It is a galvanizing event in history, and no way can any liberal take what that day means to most of us away.

It's not those of us old enough to remember that day, that concerns me, it's the younger people that should know about it.

Thank you.  I might not have been clear in the previous post.  What I was trying to say was that my Mother in Montana was the one who was able to contact my Step-Mother, via my step-mother's parent's in Maine.

My Step-Mother is still among the living, thankfully, she had entered the OTHER side of the Pentagon. 

But regardless of that, we all (well, all Americans) experienced a loss that day, whether we knew a victim personally or not, and for that we should all be remembering on that day.  NOT participating in some contrived socialist BS.

I'm glad to hear the good news that your mom is ok. My next oldest brother had an office at the Pentagon that was due to move back into that same area a short time later . He also was going to retire that same year but was held back untill a later time to be able to leave the Navy Reserves. My Neice also saw the plane hit the Pentagon from her office window in DC

Step Mom worked in the Navy, as a civilian, and was due to retire in Feb 02.  She ended up being held back as well while they moved the offices out of the Annex.  And, she still went to meetings every Tuesday at the Pentagon until she was done.
