My weekend was full of yard work. And car stuff, but unlike Chris who really has an affinity for that kinda stuff, my "car stuff" involved picking up my wife's car (a 2000 Honda Accord) from the guy who put on new brakes, fixed the wiper linkage, and some other odds & ends.

I quit working on cars when I traded in my 1973 Nova for my 1978 Nova. (The 1978 Nova rusted out before I got a chance to work on it!)

 :-)

Now yard work is my nemesis. I hate doing that stuff. Oddly enough, though, I found myself falling asleep while riding the zero turn mower around. I had to go back because I overshot a couple spots.  :rotf:

:lmao:

OH!  I passed a small car dealership in Hendersonville (exit 3) that had a BAD-ASS collection of cars for sale... Stingray Corvettes, Nova SS, Camaro SS/396, a 427 Cobra roadster.  The cheapest car was the $7,000 Ford Fairlaine 500 -- it was the only thing in my price range.  I never noticed how small those '63-'67 Corvettes are... these were about the size of your wife's Accord.

The dealership a few blocks down had a Ferrari for sale.

I always enjoyed the SS Camaro - that is, before they went Hollywood.

The only thing badder than a big-block 396 is an Olds 455 with all the goodies on it - hot cam, Holley double-pumper, headers, and an ass end that can handle all that.  :o

They had some Hurst models -- I don't recall what they were.  Man, these were some pretty cars.  Makes me want to get my Datsun finished so I can start on something else.  I've had my eye on a '64-'65 Skylark... what a pretty car.

This is an interesting magazine/blog.  Japan did have some sporty-looking imports during the 70's.  I think the one at the top of the page is a Mazda RX-3 ---> http://japanesenostalgiccar.com/

Watching the Meacham Auto Auctions on occasion, I'm struck by how much more money cars command that are completely stock. You'd think that standard brakes and crappy handling really set the stage for good driving.

Along with the SS Camaro, I've always been partial to the early GTO ('66 and '67):

They had at least one GTO.  I guess I've just gotten over-done on some of the more popular cars... Camaro, GTO, Nova.  I like having something a little different.  I've seen a total of four Datsuns on the road since I bought mine.  It's not the quickest car on the road and it's the Malaise-era 80's ZX model, but you don't see them everyday.  That's the part I like.

I still want an MG B, but I'll have to take up welding as a hobby before I can make that step.

I guarantee you the car is worth more than the ring today. :innocent:

I know the feeling. I traded my Browning Hi-Power in 9 mm for wedding bands.

I since made up for it with purchase of a .45 and a .38 snubbie. (The .38 snubbie is hers - all hers.)   :rotf:

I still have it in my mind that you're a high maintenance babe. Maybe not on the swingset, but I'm betting you pony up some serious $$ for your hairdos.

When was the last time  you had a pedicure?

Do I really look high maintenance to you?  :-)

I haven't had a pedicure in probably 2 summers. My daughter paints my toenails.

Okay, then. How many bottles of finger/toenail polish do you have on your dressing room table?

In all honesty, yes.   :shucks:

How 'bout those hairdos? Does your hairdresser really know for sure?

We used to figure skate together, spent many days in that cold cold ice arena doing whatever we could to keep each other warm.

Okay, instead of 20w-40, you guys went for the straight 30 weight.

"High maintenance" doesn't mean dressing in slinky dresses and boots all the time. Sometimes it means borrowing a too-loose belt!  :-)

I need someone who knows me in real life to vouch for me. I am seriously the anti-princess. I do like fingernail polish though, as do my two girls. We have quite a few bottles between the 3 of us.  :-)

And probably more than a few bottles of polish remover, right?
