Your thoughts: What do Ronald Reagan & Barack Obama have in common?

Edited on Thu Aug-20-09 05:22 PM by denem
Off the top of my head:

1. Great communication
2. Teflon
3. Expansive Political Ambition
4. A belief in the character of the American People

1. Communication goes without saying. Obama is perfecting his skills of keeping it light while delivering harder political punches

2. Polls consistently show that 70% plus like / approve of Barack Obama as a person, more than the approval of his policies.

3. Both want(ed) 'Transformational Presidencies'. A no lesser commentator that Bill Clinton said that the Obama Administration opens the possibility of 30 to 40 years ascendancy of progressive politics.

4, Both believe(d) in American common sense. Obviously Reagan and Obama had/have very different views of sense, let alone commonality. In my opinion, this separates both from Bill and Hillary Clinton. The Clintons paid close attention to polls to gauge what segments of Americans thought, or thought they wanted. Whether Bill or Barack was/is being more realistic in a era of deep polarization, time will tell.

Your thoughts?

PS. I will never forget reading "OMG he's the anti-Reagan!" , early in the Primaries at FR.

1. Great communication- Reagan had, uh, er, uh, Barry, not so much.
2. Teflon-Reagan earned his by Character, 0Bama by playing the Race Card.
3. Expansive Political Ambition-Reagan wanted to restore pride in America after the Carter doldrums, 0Bama wants to remake the US into his idea of a socialist utopia.
4. A belief in the character of the American People-Reagan had a love of the people of the country he loved and believed in. 0Bama thinks he is better than everone else and should bow to his wishes.

Yeah, I can see the DUmmies point. :sarcasm:

Might as well ask what does Filet Mignon and amoeba crap have in common.  Reagan was a man doing the job of President as it was envisioned by the Founding Fathers.  Dear Leader is a baby who cries and manipulates to try and get his way.

Because third world peasant labor is a good thing.

A DUmmy pretending there could be any possible comparison between Ronald Reagan and Hussein Obama is one of the most disgraceful and sickening posts that could ever be imagined, even for the DUmp.

President Reagan left office over 20 years ago. Probably over half the electorate today were too young to appreciate what an exceptional, inspiring, magnificent leader he was. I'd challenge anyone, even a democrat, to read his farewell speech, or better yet, go to YouTube and watch it, and compare it with even their highest hopes for the muslim currently defiling the White House.

Obviously, they both know how to unilaterally kick Libyan Terrorist ass.  Not to mention 'accidentally' bomb a French embassy after they denied use of their airspace. - Thats why they can't find his Birth certificate, His name is really Barack Hussien Reagan.

They're both from places that start with K. One's from Kalifornia, the other's from Kenya.
NAMBLA is a left-wing organization.

There's a reason why patriotism is considered a conservative value. Watch a Tea Party rally and you'll see people proudly raising the American flag and showing pride in U.S. heroes such as Thomas Jefferson. Watch an OWS rally and you'll see people burning the American flag while showing pride in communist heroes such as Che Guevera. --Bob, from some news site
