I have to agree with Cheney, towards the end of his presidency, Bush started to appease the democrats....let us all remember, BUSH passed the first stimulus package.  Unfortunately, this move did not improve his poll numbers, and only served to anger the conservative base. 
Giving ANYTHING to the democrats is ALWAYS a mistake....McCain's mistake as well.

I hope our next leader understands this.

Hell, I was pretty frustrated with his refusal to slap back at partisan attacks, I'm sure it drove a scrapper like Cheney nuts.  A President shouldn't initiate them, it's unstatesmanlike (Which Obama has clearly yet to figure out with all his "Inherited" excuses), but he shouldn't lay there like a damned blow-up doll either.

Ok I think we all agree that the Porkulus bills suck rotten eggs.

But wouldn't it be funny...kinda...to find out that Bush did that knowing it would set the Democrats up for failure and totally take Obama's plans and derail them?

Think of it as a giant middle finger...from a man too classy to actually flip someone off...to everyone who did their best to destroy him during his 8 years in office.

Sorry, I just don't think Bush was that sophisticated. It's wishful thinking, TRG.

No, GWB had a long history of "reaching across the aisle," from his governor days to his last 6 months in office, in particular. It's almost like he was Retired On Active Duty - he refused to communicate, refused to address the partisan attacks, refused to do much of anything except honor the military and other community service workers like fire fighters and cops.

I think GWB was so good at heart, so much a true good guy, that he just couldn't see the anti-american spirit in barack and couldn't see that the Dims really didn't give a rat's ass about working together - they wanted to win; he wanted to work together.

And that failure to uderstand the enemy will tarnish Bush 43 forever. Someone should have held him down and made him read "The Art of War" every Sunday after church. We would have been better off by a lot.
