There is a huge difference between becoming a Christian, and getting sucked into a cult.
There is also a huge difference between "deprogramming" a kid (which does work with cults, but has no effect on the presence of the Holy Spirit), and killing one that does something you don't like.
Vesta, your thought processes seem to be something less than sane at times.
Yes I guess I do get caught up in things that I just don't understand and the reality that these things are going on around me every day.
How I ask in all seriousness does a person caught up in a cult that is not christian have the presence of the Holy Spirit ??
I was raised up to believe that only through Jesus could one go to Heaven. Then when I asked about children that died too early to be baptised I was told they would go into Limbo forever.
It bothered me as a child as a family member lost a 2 day old child. My parents told me the baby was in heaven with Jesus yet the church told me no, only the baptised go to heaven.
Some churches don't baptise until the child is 13, so if they died by accident at age 6 would they stay in Limbo forever.
I tell you, trying to make sense of all these beliefs as a kid was not easy.
Today as an adult that has seen and studied religion, all kinds of faith, I still cannot get a grasp on just what the Holy spirit is, and why it would negate those who live in areas that have never heard of Jesus.
Does not the Holy Spirit come to all who live following the 10 Commandments.?
