Bear Found Feeding on Elderly Woman's Body in Colorado

Saturday, August 08, 2009

OURAY, Colo. —  Wildlife officials say a bear was found feeding on the body of a 73-year-old woman who had been repeatedly warned not to give dog food to the bruins that live near her home north of Ouray.

A caretaker said she saw the bear over the woman's body Friday and called 911. The victim's name has not been released.

The story is only four paragraphs long.  But, the next one goes into some detail about the bolded above, including that she refused wildlife officials' attempts to get her to stop feeding the bears. :thatsright:

Darwin Award nominee . . . I can see it.

Except that at her age, it can be presumed she has already contributed to the gene pool... all other qualifications are met.

Any bets as to whether or not she's a transplant from California?

My mistake.

Maybe she was a transplant from, say, Chicago . . .

Yeah--that's why when I went to HS in NM (Four Corners area--that's how I know where Ouray is) we hated Texans--until the Californians moved in.
