I have a hangover.....
« on: August 08, 2009, 01:47:08 PM »
For the first time in forever. We went out to eat at a great little Italian resturant in Manhattan Beach with some friends. They had a "deal" where you buy two glasses of wine and you get the third glass free so of course I had to have the third glass. I felt fine when we left. We walked on the boardwalk (it was friggen freezing) then came back to the hotel. Our friends are staying here too so we sat outside around a firepit and drank more wine. I didn't finish my glass but started feeling not so hot. I came up to our room and threw up.  I felt fine when I woke up but now I feel like shit.

So anyone do anything fun last night or have anything fun planned for today?  I want to go to a movie sometime later today. Has anyone seen any good movies lately?

We had fun planned for the day...took 2 of my grandson's fishing this morning.  Unfortunately, it ended with one throwing a temper tantrum about catching his line in the rocks again!   :p

Maybe later we'll get together with my other daughter and spend some time adoring the newest granddaughter.   :-)

Sorry about the hangover, BEG. I usually do OK with one bottle of wine...any more than that and I'm finished. And lately, I can't seem to drink much beer without feeling awful. I attribute it to the heat more than anything. Or maybe I'm just getting old?  :o

Didn't do much last night because I stayed out late on Thursday. My softball team was eliminated in the second round of playoffs. Afterward, we headed over to our teammate's house for brewskis and late-night jam sessions. It was fun. I was glad I had Friday off though.

Tonight is Wii bowling. I'm nervous because there has been a lot of tension in the family recently. I'm hoping for a fun and civil evening.

I feel your pain. :couch: :drunksailor:

Not much planned here today.  I'm getting around to disassembling the other half of a cylinder head in between watching a few movies and some TV.  I was going to go outside and do some cleaning and painting but I'm not really in the mood for that.

I'm officially de-motivated.  Played golf early this morning with a nice hangover, and now it's 95 degrees and humid.  I'm thinking of hitting the couch for a nap.

I shaved my own face today.  I just took two more pain pills.  I'm hungry, which is good.  Today's entertainment consists of old Bette Davis movies on TMC.  "Now, Voyager" is on now.  It was filmed 13 years before I was born.

My plan is to have a hangover sometime in the middle of January.  That will mark being out of the hospital six months.

Hope you're feeling better BEG, and good luck finding a decent movie.  The only film I've heard of lately, that was raved about... was aptly named "The Hangover"  :uhsure:

I had planned on spending the day shopping for birthday presents.  Unfortunately, it's been raining pretty much non-stop.  Which puts a bit of a damper on my strolling around town shopping.

Went shopping with all the kids, and acutally had a good time!

Went to the Verizon store, and they replaced my older son's phone that broke earlier this year (they wouldn't replace it then, when my husband took it in and inquired...jerks) with no questions asked.  Also, gulp, got a phone for my youngest.  Yes, he's young, but we don't have a land line, and he might be home by himself for 15 minutes or so some mornings once school starts, so I feel bette this way.  He'll leave it home, and only use it when he needs it.

Went to lunch, and had a great time.  We were all sitting and visitng, and all of a suddne the mangaer comes up apologizing for our food not being there yet (it had been a while, but it wasn't THAT long)...somehow it never got put into the system.  She comp'd the whole meal for us...2 appetizers, 4 entrees and 2 desserts!

Then we went to the mall, and found some great deals.  Not as great for the boys, because it's next to impossible to find clothes that remotely fit them on clearance, so we had to settle for on sale.  Great deals for my daughter, though.   And new cleats for my elder son, originally 70 bucks, got them for 30.

Now we are home, just chillin'.

I woke up early today and started to get a migrane. It became worse, and I had plans to get a few things done, but everytime I start to move and accomplish things, the headache gets worse. This is after medication. My head feels full, so I did take a decongestant to no avail.

So I'm sitting her pissed off as it feels like I wasted a day.

It cooled off here, it's only 90 outside with 7% humidity! I slept with the windows open.

I feel hungover but have not had a drink in weeks!  :banghead:

I have company that will be here next week....need to get some things done.

Would it have been Mangiamo, by any chance?  Sorry about the hangover, but I suggest you get your butt out of bed and head down to The Local Yolk for breakfast this morning.  Perfect time for it.

You're now discovering what all we "beach people" know.  It could be hotter than hell inland or in the valley, but you'll STILL need a sweater or sweatshirt at the beach.  Welcome to California.

I tried a new addition to the local cuisine scene last night.  They touted themselves as a steakhouse (hence the name "Spaulding Steak and Ale") but had precious little in the way of steaks and frankly, the quality/taste wasn't nearly as good as what I could have done for a lot cheaper.  They have your basic ribeye (10 oz), siloin, and filet.  They looked like and at least mine tasted like it came straight from the freezer.  No aging, no real quality to it.  The potato was still uncooked.  The only saving grace is that the service was fairly good compared to other places in town.  If a place like Ruth's Chris or Delmonico's was a 10, this place would have been about a 3 or 4, tops.  They're not going to last long, IMO.

Drank one too many vintage bourbons last night watching UFC. The hangover isn't TOO bad.

Oh BEG!! Drink lots of water and don't make any sudden moves.

I would suggest GJ Joe but the noise and action may make you sicker.

Lazy Sunday here. Slept in, drank my favorite coffee, snuggled my sweetie, read a book. I plan on ignoring the laundry for another day too. Life's good.

No, my friends, there’s only one really progressive idea. And that is the idea of legally limiting the power of the government. That one genuinely liberal, genuinely progressive idea — the Why in 1776, the How in 1787 — is what needs to be conserved. We need to conserve that fundamentally liberal idea. That is why we are conservatives. --Bill Whittle

Went to see The Ugly Truth last weekend....it was funny....went with 3 women....there were only 2 guys in the theatre (we went to the "cheap" show...$7.50 and spent $27 on popcorn, 2 iceteas, and 2 waters :o :o :o) and they didn't seem to be laughing out loud... :uhsure:

As a mother of boys....it will be worth seeing just for the "vibrating undies" scene! v :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

I was "forced" to see that movie last week.  It was actually funny at times, but a painfully obvious ending.  The main male character was by far the most entertaining, along with Cheryl Hines and John Michael Higgins as the anchors.
