I'm over 60 years old and I know one thing about these Right-Wing Idiots
This is the only time in all of the years I have been following politics, which is to say from the Viet Nam War forward, that any group could have disrupted lawful Government events and activities and not got their brains bashed in by the police. From Chicago right up to our most recent Conventions, on both sides, the police would have been swinging clubs under any other President. These ****ing Right Wing Idiots should consider themselves lucky, every President from Lyndon Johnson to George W. Bush would have had their heads on pikes by now.

1. Guess it all boils down to which side of power the 'dissenters' are on
...and in this case I use the term dissenter quite loosely.

4. Yes, it helps if you are "protesting" on behalf of the establishment.
Instead of protesting to change the establishment.

2. I've been daydreaming about having them report to their Free Speech Zones.
I'm sure the irony would be absolutely lost on them. But I can dream.

3. well, I haven't been around that long and I wondered why the cops didn't come bash their brains in. Seems to happen when folks protest for rights, or against a ****ing war.

5. I believe they refer to that as "priorities being in order."

06. I've been wondering when the line into disorderly conduct is crossed.
These wingnuts wouldn't have even gotten into a meeting under the last regime and if they managed to, they would have gotten the bum's rush out the back door after the first screech. As soon as it's obvious people are there to disrupt and nothing more, they need to be removed.

7. Yes, they certainly would
I think Obama knows he's dealing with the beginnings of a tinderbox here. What the rethugs don't realize is that we are willing to fight for America too if it comes down to it. Peace, civil discourse, and respect are what they should be striving for (being good Christians and all). The Republican generation before them would have understood that.
These yahoos don't respect anything.

9. You have captured it completely with your ending sentence
I never really thought of it that way, but you are absolute right. The root cause of the problem with these idiots is they don't respect anything. The world must conform to the dictates of their misinformed opinion and an ideal universe based on their narcissistic view and of course attendant to that view is lack of respect for anything else.
Perfect.

8. Is it possible that some group wants Dems & Repubs to fight each other while the group rapes and pillages our nation?
Perhaps corporatists quietly advancing their agenda while We the People fight over divisive, polarizing issues?

13. I was there when all this shit started and you have it right
I was a humble engineering student at Univ. of CA in Berkeley in 1964 when the Free Speech Movement took hold. I was on the GI bill. married and a father, so I had very little time to protest anything. But I sensed that something was not right in the way these protesters were treated.
Five years later I was working in Berkeley when the People's Park protests took place. This time it was even worse. The Berkeley PD was perhaps the best in the nation when it came to community relations and crowd control but it was too much for them so they called in Oakland PD and Alameda Co sheriff's. Major head busting, tear gassing, and one protester shot and killed. And the tone of these protests, though hostile, was no more so than these health care protester loonies. Actually it was tamer, since the protesters did not constitute any kind of physical threat to those in charge.
Things finally calmed down when the Natl. Guard arrived. Maybe there needs to be a few armed soldiers at the town hall meetings.

14. The thing is most people realize what idiots the repubs are
It's not like the repubs have any valid political stance that outrages them, they're just acting out lifetimes of being duped, extreme cognitive dissonance, of being lied to by every repub that's come along. It'd be like bashing the heads of religious freaks at an airport or mall, it'd just be sadistic. That said, a larger movement of seriously dangerous republicans is growing rapidly, a large chunk of them are seriously deluded and have been for years by corporate and government propaganda. These are the domestic terrorists that everyone should be very worried about.
You know, something's way out of kilter here.
Nebraska has two U.S. Senators and three U.S. Congressmen.
All have conducted Town Hall meetings.
All Town Hall meetings in Nebraska have been held under the most courteous and respectful conditions; in fact, most of them don't even make the news, nothing happens.
One wonders why this is; why members of Congress from blue states don't have much of a good time at their Town Hall meetings.
