When Repugs Say To Me "Just Show Me One Government Program That Works" I Tell Them This.......
The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) is the United States federal government agency that collects taxes and enforces the internal revenue laws. It is an agency within the U.S. Department of the Treasury and is responsible for interpretation and application of Federal tax law.

Seems to shut them up everytime.

If we want a government program to work - we can make it work.

5. Medicare.

Social Security.

The police force.

Any one of those works too.
The first two are broke, and the third is ran by locals not feds.

17. the post office

and UPS and FedEx are not out of business cause they compete with Uncle Sam.

The reverse is true in this case. The USPS is another that is losing money, because they can't compete with private enterprise.

As someone who deals with the IRS on a nearly daily basis, I can unequivocally say that they are FUBAR.  The people who work there are great, it is the regulations and policies that are completely ridiculous.

You fail, DUmmy.

I won't even give them that much, Ralph.

A few years ago, I got a letter from them saying I owed a bunch more tax, because they couldn't validate one of my mortgage deductions.

I sent them a copy of the form I got from the bank on the mortgage interest - 4 TIMES.  After 4 months, they finally figured it out.
Help keep America beautiful...deface a liberal.

The Democrat and Republican parties are simply the left and right wings of the same bird of prey.

The road to freedom is paved with dead liberals.

Well, I'm dealing with people in the corporate tax area not individuals taxes.  I think there is a different crop of people in the respective departments.

Wow.  How ignorant and/or stupid are these people, seriously?  To claim the IRS, SS, Medicare and the USPS work?

The IRS is perfect for a DUmbass example.

1. The IRS is above the law, there are few if any Constitutional restraints on how the IRS operates.

2. The IRS takes things from people for the eventual 50% dispersion to people that did not earn them.

3. The IRS is the most totalitarian of any government organization.

The IRS is a DUchebag's wet dream of how government should work.
When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

I was watching a travel show on PBS a few minutes ago. It was about the little Mini-countries of Europe, 6 of them I think it was. Each one was doing great because rich people and companies in Europe flock to them because they have "no income tax".

They do have some form of taxes but no "income taxes".
“The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism. But, under the name of ‘liberalism’, they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.” - Norman Thomas, U.S. Socialist Party presidential candidate 1940, 1944 and 1948

"America is like a healthy body and its resistance is threefold: its patriotism, its morality, and its spiritual life. If we can undermine these three areas, America will collapse from within."  Stalin

You know, if your answer to the "show me a program that works" question is "IRS" you've removed all doubt about your mental state.

Answer me this global1, how well did they work when it came to collecting taxes and enforcing the laws in relation to 0's appointees?

I can't believe these asshats are defending losing programs under the guise they are successful! They picked 2 that have been robbed by congress and never were solvent. The other is the laughing stock of the mail delivery system in this country. If they are that great, why is it UPS and FedEx are billion dollar companies?

They can't be serious, can they? Oh, that's right, they're DUmmies!!!!!!!!!

Not only that, but what is the figure they don't collect and is back logged because they are so far behind in busting tax dodgers? It's billions of dollars!!!!!!! Yep, must be real succsseful! If a company in the private sector pulled that shit, they'd be out of business!!!!!!!! It helps when you have a blank check to finance your ****-ups!

The IRS is hardly efficient themselves. No government program is efficient.

I think they have what some people are proposing here: a national sales tax.  Of course, that's never going to fly here because:

1) it will not bring in as much money as income taxes do
2) that would mean the government would actually have to cut its budget
3) with Democrats having even enough power to filibuster, it will never happen
