Technically, when one purchases something online here in the US, MOST states require those purchases to be reported and sales tax paid on them if those taxes aren't already charged by the seller. Of course, those sales are terribly difficult to track, therefore the sales tax doesn't ever get reported.

Of course, those sales are terribly difficult to track REMEMBER, therefore the sales tax doesn't ever get reported.

I swear, I would have reported them if only I remembered!   :-)
