The mopinko primitive was the one who had her rectal aperture probed, and came out from under the anesthesia before the physician was all done.

why are my intestines disintegrating? diverticulitis
ok, i know disintegrating is not an accurate description. but i had a colonoscopy recently, and after 8 years of taking pretty good care of my guts, the diverticula are proliferating like bunnies.
the first scope showed a smattering, couldn't get more than one in a picture. this time around, the souvenir photo had 8. moderately severe.
it doesn't give me much trouble, really. just occasionally kinda rumbly and crampy. but i do plan on using those intestines for quite a while still, and the gi was sort of a dick, and not very helpful.
i know there is the google, but you guys are a lot easier to wade through.
Damn, too bad the mopinko primitive's got the same problem as Grandma (the "hippywife" primitive), who similarly has diverted intestines. Misery loves company over there on Skins's island.

1. If that doctor wasn't helpful, maybe you should get a second opinion.

7. yeah, i'll be going over the findings with my internist
i am having trouble with gastric reflux, also. internist is good, and i am sure will have info for me. gi is a dick.
So's the mopinko primitive who, when she had a new front door installed, demanded Old World Craftsmanship at illegal-alien-under-the-table wages.

13. yeah, i am in a great network.
university of chicago medical schools network. really the newest and best of everything. the gi is a holdover from before i got in the network, and i was just figuring to get this scope and be done with him.
Actually, the mopinko primitive wants to get rid of the prober, because he's been up inside her too much, and the mopinko primitive's getting embarrassed about it.

2. Sorry to hear that. Perhaps consider consulting with a dietician also.

3. I have this issue as well
I have really changed my diet to accomodate it. I am hoping to go a long time before surgery (if ever).

5. We cannot get out of this world alive. Once you hit a certain age all sorts of chronic conditions just up and show up. A lot has to do with your genes. Some chronic conditions seem to favor certain families while other conditions favor other families.
We can better manage these conditions and live pretty good life with them--at least much better than earlier generations.
Remember preventative medicine does not alway literally prevent a condition from occurring. It has you in better condition to cope and live with a condition.
Having said that, Diverticulitis is no fun, here is to your having many better days than days. Diet can help.
Now, that sounds just like franksolich.

6. Drink a glass of Citracel everyday. Sugar free Citracel. That's what my guy told me uyears ago and it works. Citracel, tastes like Tang, not bad,
Actually, the mopinko primitive needs more fiber in her diet.
Instead of eating potato chips, she should be eating wood chips.

9. i don't mind the cookies.
i do the tablet ones every day. but i may kick it up to a cookie a day. i do eat a lot of fruits and v*****s, pretty low fat, very little meat.
Wood chips would be better. And they are bite-sized.

10. Many fruits and veg can aggravate the diverticuli, so be careful.
My mom (88) is really suffering with it the last year, after living with it for many years. The last bout of diverticulitis put her in hospital.
It seems to be a balancing act between not enough fiber and too much, thus aggravating the damned things.

12. yeah, the fiber supplements seem to have the advantage of just being roughage, as they used to say. just nothing. i love dried fruit, but i have to be careful with it. my daughter has crohn's, and is only supposed to eat stuff that is dead pulp. she is doing well, tho, and gets away with a lot right now.
