One gets the impression the gigantic primitive is much more positive off Skins' island, than on it. One wonders what's up with that.

Thanks, Daffodil, for recommending the Granny games. I tried a limited play trial of one of them and thought it was really cute, but that was some time ago and the concept has since been lost in the shuffle of the other 25 games I'm addicted to. I will definitely get a copy of at least a trial for Jeanette to check out, though. I think it would be an instant hit with her.
As for my life this past couple of days, my energy pendulum has taken another violent swing back into "Sleepless in a Place Much Hotter Than Seattle" territory. My arm bugs me? I defy it and continue doing something anyway, even if it's just watching TV or videos on YouTube.
We're finishing up our creamy spinach soup, and Jeanette also took a trip to Subway for some quick and easy salad-on-a-bun. I get their veggie subs with no cheese, mayo or oil and only add mustard, vinegar, oregano and pepper for flavor. I will admit having them sprinkle a few olives on, but that's the extent of the rich ingredients. I always have the 9-grain bread which I wish were less refined because I'm always using sprouted grain bread at home whenever possible.
Anywho, weigh-in for me is tomorrow. I hope I get a good number because I've been very good about not overeating and the Subway sandwich buns are the absolute closest I get to SAD food nowadays. When Jeanette posted that she's proud of me for not having asked for anything off-plan since day one, she's not joking. I saw one of our roommate's inevitable red velvet cakes out on the kitchen counter yesterday, and the first thought in my mind is that they use an extract from beetles (called 'carmine' or 'cochneal extract') to turn it that inviting, delicious red color.
I know, I know -- you're all amazed I didn't wolf half of it down face first right through its plastic cover, aren't you? Obama called and told me my medal of honor was coming in the mail next week along with the secret decoder ring and Super Secret Spy Outfit (size children's medium -- should fit into it by the time I'm down to about 115).

Well it's certainly better than nothing at all, but I had to fight with everything I had to get through the week with a 1 lb. loss. I'm not really disappointed in that as much as I am highly puzzled. Hopefully everything will speed back up a bit again for next week.

We're getting a list of groceries together so that we can eat almost exclusively MWL recipes all week long this week. Nothing added and no embellishments, just lots of healthy low calorie density foods.
I'm tired so I'm going to take a nap while Jeanette runs around and gets our groceries and stuff. I'll check in later.

Hello, Letha. Thank you for your post today. I appreciate the support and encouragement.
Just to make it clear, today's weigh-in doesn't leave me feeling down, much less out. We are continuing to refine and perfect our lifestyle with the plan and it's coming along wonderfully. I haven't had one of the McDougall instant meal cups in at least a week now, which is good for keeping my salt intake lower even though I think the food is very well made. I appreciate the effort Jeanette puts into making a huge batch of soup or vegetable casserole much more anyway, and those things are unbeatable for taste and health support.
I've averaged a loss of just over 3 lbs. per week for the month of July, and for a person with very little mobility who doesn't do a whole lot at this stage there is no reason to feel hopeless or like I've failed. I certainly won't complain over more -7 weeks in the coming months, but I understand that without fairly heavy exercise there is no way to maintain that amount of loss consistently.

As I just posted over in the MWL thread for July, my eating patterns were almost perfect, the only exception was that I drank the last 12 oz. or so out of a container of strawberry-banana Naked Juice in small nips throughout the day. The rest of this week I'll be eating real fruit instead of the juice, and we've got several batches of MWL dishes lined up. Our non-MWL exception for the week will be some mushroom stroganoff which contains firm tofu, over either rice or whole wheat pasta.
If I keep the portions of the tofu pasta down and fill in the gaps with stuff like corn, peas and potatoes, this should turn into a banner week for me. I even figured out a new pillow pile configuration to sleep on which cuts the pain in my right shoulder down by more than half. I might just keep my last gossamer filament of sanity yet!
