I checked the supermarket and could not find even one live animal being sold for food.
Lobsters that are cooked on the spot but no mammals or even clams or oysters due to the red tide.
I will grant that dried beans in a bag can be sprouted so they are not actually dead, just in a coma sort of. Any vegetable that can be sprouted, and grown is potential life, potatoes for example.
I went that route years ago to save money found I was paying more in the long run and gained 30 lbs from carbohydrates and tended to get more colds and viruses, sugar level went sky high.
My breaking point came early one morning while camping and someone was cooking BACON. The smell on the morning air that was cool and crisp---fried eggs cooked in the Bacon fat, there I Sat looking at instant oatmeal, toast and a lousy orange. AHHHH.
Being Blessed by God to have been born in America, I had never gone more then 48 hours with no food. I can say I understand why starvation causes people to turn to any food source be it cat, dog mouse stew or god forbid the unthinkable. The Donner Party comes to mind.
If humans were meant to be vegetarians we would have the same teeth as a freaking cow.
