I used to have quite a bit of communication with Fister on Wikipedia. Bordering on friendly even. I don't edit over there anymore though.

Yup.  When I had a troll account and I would post my opinion (where I thought I could get away with it) I have 2 or 3 send me PM's saying they agreed with me.  Strange they wouldn't agree with me in the open ......

Yes, with the IdaBriggs primitive.  She's a nutjob.

She posted her email on something she wrote one time about 3 years ago and I responded.  What she wrote back was some 15,000 word rambling nonsense which would put Bridget and that VOR idiot to shame.  I wrote back some short and to the point answer, and she went off on some other 15,000 word rant.  I answered one more time and added that she needed to shorten her answers, to quit rambling down all the rabbit trails and just stick to the topic.  Got another 15,000 word novel of nothingness and decided I'd spent enough time dealing with someone who was as worthless as their posts were long.

Yes, I have!  And this particular primitive, in a way, led me to TOS and all of you good people.

I first encountered this primitive on a forum for grousing about your inlaws.  She was, by far, one of the most prolific posters, and would try to turn any discussion political.  The first time she came after me was in a thread about prayer in schools.  Anyway, she got the webmaster to create a board for political discussion, and then, unbeknownst to most members, got Mod status.  (Mods were anonymous)  Needless to say, the conservatives had nearly all our posts removed when the flame wars started.  Her constant posting of links to DU ended up leading me to TOS, to my absolute delight.

The primitive got a longtime, popular, pleasant and of course conservative member banned from the inlaw site, so a pack of us left in protest.  Apparently some of the folks who left set up some dummy site to attract the primitive and her minions, with the goal of engaging her in, what exactly, I don't know.  It must have worked because next thing I knew, she emailed me through my user ID at the inlaw site with all kinds of veiled threats and somewhat incoherent rantings, accusing me of stalking her, among other things.  Judging by the time of the email, I suspect she was drunk.  A few days later, on one of my trips to Skin's island, I stumbled across this, one of my favorite all-time posts:

I'll add another.

When I was at CU, the buzzy primitive PM'd me, what prompted him to do so I don't know.  He told me he thought most of the primitves were a bunch of blowhards and jerks, that he was a liberal but not that kind of liberal, etc...  I wrote him back and told him that I realize all libs aren't quite as emptyheaded as the primitives, that I know some normal libs, etc...

A few minutes later I made a comment on a B/W thread about some statement some idiotic primitive made, and buzzy PM's be back with this "Why did you say that about this primitive?  I thought you were one of the good guys over here?," which was odd since I wasn't doing anything I didn't normally do.  I wrote him back, but I don't remember what I said, but it was probably along the lines of "What in the world are you talking about?"  His attitude sorta flipped after that towards me and others, and that was that.

Sadly no, at least not that I know of.

I was traveling out of State and stopped by an old college buddies house to see his new kid (total cutie, their first). His wife is a bit moonbatty and opened the coversation with agony of door to door Obama plugging in Indiana. Meh, I just wanted to meet the kid, say hi, have a beer and be on my way so no political discussion took place.

I have a fairly new Polish-American sister-in-law who is full on Commie but thinks she is just a socialist. (lol) Otherwise she is cool as can be, a fellow smoker and just gave me my first nephew. Politics almost never come up. She rooted against the USofA in the last Olympics because "we win all the medals" and thinks the 4th of July is "jigoistic" but the only conversation we ever had about that was pretty short and sweet. She said something like "sorry, I just hate all this flag waving who-ha" and I said something like, "this is America, never apologise for your opinion" and that was that. We mostly talk about family matters, how I can help fix up their house and the more important battles for the planet, that being, the apolitical and vastly more important war between the sexes.  :rotf:

Maybe, but it was before I ever knew about DU. 

I had a brief interest in alternate history after reading one of Harry Turtledove's better novels.  I searched out a website dedicated to such and I enjoyed the company, most of the posters were liberals but not jerks. 

In the genreal discussion forum one of them posted an attack on an anti-welfare position and I posted a defense of the position.  For some reason that sent the very liberal northeast college professor candidate, whose screen name I can't remember, into a blind rage in which he attacked my post, my education, and my family's genetic history.  I regarded the screed as being unworthy of a college professor and advised him that after he calmed down he may consider changing his post, to which I received another screed.  This continued on for a couple of months more or less.  At some point during this I discovered DU by accident and didn't think much of it.

One day, prior to Star Wars: The clone wars coming out, I posted a tongue in cheek article from a conservative web site defending Palpatine.  It wasn't directed at him, only for the humor, but I couldn't have scored a more direct hit if I tried.  Other posters were trying to get him to calm down by then.  I then noticed the same article posted in DU general discussion less than a day later, it was odd in that the article was written and posted before the first of the new trilogy came out.  I've always thought that prticular DUmpmonkie and the other poster were the same.
