Yes / Asia concert tonight!
« on: July 09, 2009, 02:37:37 PM »
Yes was coming to Phoenix last December.  I was really happy to get third row seats.  Then they canceled the concert.

So, now they're back with the original lineup of Asia.  This time I have second row seats.

Supposed set list...

Quote
Yes/Asia setlists (from the June 27th show in Las Vegas) *spoiler alert*

Asia (approximately 1 hour set)
Wildest Dreams
Only Time will Tell
An Extraordinary Life
Video killed the Radio Star (Buggles)
In the Court of the Crimson King (King Crimson)
The Smile has left your Eyes
Don’t Cry
Fanfare for the Common Man (Emerson, Lake and Palmer)
Soul Survivor
Heat of the Moment

—
Yes (approximately 1 hour and 50 minutes)
Firebird Suite
Siberian Khatru
I’ve Seen All Good People
Tempus Fugit
Astral Traveller
And You and I
Steve Solo/Clap
Owner of a Lonely Heart
Machine Messiah
Roundabout
Heart of the Sunrise
Starship Trooper (encore)

This should be a really good show.

How'd the show go? Was Bruford in the lineup?

Yes hasn't been the same since Rick Wakeman left.

Great show.  No Bruford.  Original members Howe, Squire and White.

Rick Wakeman's son, Oliver played keyboards, he was very good.

Vocals were by a guy name Benoit David.  Man, he nailed Jon Anderson's voice, 99.8% perfect.

I saw Yes almost 30 years ago.  I can't even begin to recall the concert, but I am sure it was very good.

There were a LOT of folks there that probably saw them 30 years ago, and were STILL really tore up.
This fat, 65 or so year old, VERY ****ed up hippie chick tried to climb up on the stage.

LOL I bet so. I gave all that up a few years ago and really don't miss it. BUT I'd also never trade in the years I did do it either :-)
