Thursday...7/9/09
« on: July 09, 2009, 08:34:43 AM »
Middle of the road kind of day...STILL don't have my truck, going on 3 weeks at the body shop now, but tonight is the first All-Star game, so I'm excited about that!

But, since I don't have my truck yet, and I have to take a trip out of town for the weekened, it's still middle of the road....excited about the trip (baseball tournament for the young one), but dreaded driving the old car.

Weather has been ok, but the bugs/gnats are horrible.

How's things in your neck-o-the-woods?

Label printer validation continues today. Consultants driving in from St. Louis because they didn't want to stay overnight, even in Columbia (where they don't roll the sidewalks up at 6 p.m.). Damn. That's five hours round trip wasted in a car.  :mental:

Rehearsal tonight. Working with the other euph player, who now wants to practice to get better - a very good thing.

I'm leaving for vacation this afternoon and I'm excited!! Still obsessing over the whole suitcase (did I pack the right things?)

Anyway, I'll be gone for about 9 days. You guys have fun and behave :-)

No, my friends, there’s only one really progressive idea. And that is the idea of legally limiting the power of the government. That one genuinely liberal, genuinely progressive idea — the Why in 1776, the How in 1787 — is what needs to be conserved. We need to conserve that fundamentally liberal idea. That is why we are conservatives. --Bill Whittle

I've been on vacation for about a week and a half, so yesterday was my first day back at work.  It actually went pretty well, my job was still there when I came back so that is a plus   :cheersmate:

Nothing special, I think I might have a OB appointment today, gotta call to double check. Keep a two year old busy without going batshit crazy. She is at that "fun age" where me and her father know nothing and she knows everything and don't have to listen. I believe it passes when she is 20. So glad I am having another girl.  :whatever: :-)

I'm scheduled for a bunch of overtime this month, so I'll be headed into work for a few hours today.  I've been mentioned for a promotion... I just need to get an IT certification or two.  I was working on that when they laid me off six months ago.  After I got re-hired, they had me working strange hours, so studying went out the window.  Looks like its time to pick up the books again.  I'm going back to a more normal shift (8-4:30p) near the end of the month.

I volunteered to work on Christmas morning.  That should be interesting. :p

Back at work, training this morning, installing software and troubleshooting it this afternoon.  Off at "regular" time Friday, dealing tomorrow night, working Saturday.

Not terribly warm, but at least the sun is out for a change.  Might hit 70.  Might even hit high 70's by this weekend, just in time to mow the lawn on Sunday and BBQ another rack of ribs.

Waiting on pins and needles for a call on an offer we made on a house the other day. But first I'm off to go get a haircut.

Just got back from another house hunting trip.  Friggen depressed the heck out of me when I walked back into our house and had to think about the difference in the housing there and the cost.  I'm a little on the pissed side.  Add to that we lost money on our house and I'm really in a bad mood.

We found out the yellow house that I posted a few weeks ago that was taken off the market might still be doable but wont know for a few days if we can come to an agreement.  If we can't get that house then we will probably rent for awhile.

The movers are coming monday and it will take them several days.  We don't really  "own" the house anymore because the relo company buys it from us and then sells it to the buyer.  I don't quite understand why they do that but anyway, we should be getting the equity out of the house in the next few days.  The buyers close on the house on the 17th.  We will stay with my Mom after the movers start moving our stuff.  We will stay with my parents until the end of the month.

I don't want to move.   :bawl:

Which one is it--the house in Brea or Fullerton?

Which one is it--the house in Brea or Fullerton?

Fullerton....we are dealing directly with the seller because he is his own realtor (and he is also in the mortgage business).

He has Lou Grehigs (sp) disease and can't get around in the house any longer. They took it off the market because they couldn't get the right offer and it was rather difficult for them to have it on the market with him being in the condition he is in and they needed a break.  He is in a wheel chair and has lost the use of his hands. They were going to put it back on the market At a later date but when our realtor called they decided to take our offer. We just came to an agreed upon price today and it was more than we wanted to spend but this house is truly beautiful and feels like home. I hope nothing huge is wrong with the inspection and it apprases because if the apprasal comes in low I don't think he can go any lower and we would have to walk away because we are already putting more than 20% down and I refuse to pay more for a house than what it apprases for.
