I do gotta admit, the first thought in my head was "I wonder if this had anything to do with these rich sports type thinking their gangsta."

Another celebrity gone. This whole month plus has not been good for the famous.

Nashville police spokesman Don Aaron confirmed that authorities were called to a condominium and found McNair and a woman shot to death inside. Aaron said police don't yet know the circumstances of the shootings.

Aaron said police tentatively have identified the woman but did not release her name.

"There are persons who were around the complex today, visitors, who have been taken to headquarters for questioning, just to see what they know, what they may have seen," Aaron said. "No one is in custody right now."

The condominium where the bodies were found is one that McNair was known to frequent, but police spokeswoman Kristin Mumford could not say whether he was the owner.

He's married but the woman he was found with wasn't his wife.
Very first report from police was murder-suicide, but then they backed off. May still be the case.
He was charged with an illegal weapon during one of his DUI arrests a few years ago, but negotiated it away.

That is what it sounds like... more details are coming out, and the woman has been identified.

Police have confirmed the female victim is Sahel Kazemi, 20.

Police have confirmed that Steve McNair suffered several gunshots, and Kazemi died of one gunshot to the head.

"The medical examiner will be conducting autopsies tomorrow," Metro police spokesman Don Aaron said. "We expect to make additional conclusions after the autopsy process."

A car registered to Steve McNair and 20-year-old Kazemi was stopped two days ago on Broadway.

The driver and co-owner, Sahel Kazemi, was charged with driving under the influence and refusing to take a breath test. The car was a 2007 black Cadillac Escalade.

Per Metro PD spokesman Don Aaron, there was a pistol found next to the girl's body (local radio broadcast, no link).

I realize I've been posting updates in this thread all day, but I really feel bad for this guy's kids.  They have to go to bed tonight knowing they no longer have a father and will never see him again. :(

They didn't apparently see that much of him anyway. One report said his wife told police she hadn't heard from him in a couple of days.
He lived in a society with the morals of an alleycat, where screwing around and fathering more kids builds respect and "street cred".
He learned too late about the hazards of having a crazy ex-girlfriend.

It's really rather a shame, I mean... since he was a philandering arse, with four kids and a wife at home.

One would think his wife should have had the option to shoot him rather than the girl-toy.  Shrugs.  :uhsure:

It's sad for anyone to go by violence or abuse. But whats really sad is that he and Michael Jackson are more worthy of front page news, and real important news goes unreported or shoved to the back.
