The politically correct primitive suffers another loss.
In case anyone's disremembered, the politically correct primitive is either a receptionist or a cleaning lady, in either a dental or medical office.

Alex died today....
Alex was more than a patient of twenty-eight years; he was a friend, a confidant, a guy twenty years older than I who, with his wife, used to take me to dinner when I was single and would invite me over for tennis and a meal, usually at home, sometimes out. You could not begin to pick up a check when he was around and he loved his wife and his dog and cats.
He was a West-Philly raconteur, recalling stories from the forties and fifties and was so expressive and funny. He worked at a long-gone manufacturing firm in the accounts-payable department and would answer the phone "Accounts payable" in a real gruff voice, and then when you identified yourself as his buddy, he'd instantly brighten, discarding the affectation of those who are designated to argue bills and write checks.
He was a kind and fundamentally gentle fella, a little sexist, a little prejudiced, a little homophobic, but he dealt well with that which presented itself within a changing society and came to slowly but definitely accept new roles for others as simple evolution of humanity and culture. I would gently argue with him over the years, and afterward, he might say, "You may be right." quietly, almost to himself.
There will be no wall-to-wall coverage of his death, no pundits or lawyers on TV discussing the implications to all of my loss, but his death diminishes me much more than Michael Jackson's or Ed McMahon's certainly. I have a space now, another hole, and it's going to take a long time to recover.
Now, remember, last week the politically correct primitive felt a "loss" at the death of a local celebrity, long ago thought dead anyway, because this obscure local celebrity had once lived--decades ago--in the politically correct primitive's house.
Now, one wonders what's up with this, which was all at the end of the politically correct primitive's bonfire:
