We have a family of raccoons. M saw them the other night....daddy, momma and 4 little babies. We feed them. There's a set spot just into the woods at the back of the driveway, where I put food, when I clean out the refrig or cabinets. Since I've been doing that, they have been quite well behaved.
We're on septic and it just saves going into the system or being hauled to the dump.
You're going to regret that !!!

Ever hear of a compost pile?? They're ecologically friendly.........

I tried that last summer. Those coons cost us a fortune to feed. Then, even after we had been feeding them, they'd climb a tree adjacent to the deck and poop all over. They also started getting into stuff and tearing things up. I quit feeding them, and most of them left for other feeding grounds. There was one that refused to leave, no matter what. That one ended up going to raccoon heaven. Another came around this spring, it, too, found it's way to raccoon heaven. The psychotic white dog that has made this place it's home will soon be going to doggie heaven because she's become/ been a nuisance. I'm not real keen on shooting her, but her anti-social tendencies and her proclivity to drag garbage from other houses into the yard has long run out her welcome here. I've been trying to chase her off, but with us feeding the cats around here, she won't leave for other feeding/safety areas.
