Agreed. I could tolerate Rachel Ray as long as she would cook and keep her mouth shut.  :-)

I heard he was on a flight to Floriduh when luggage in the overhead fell on his head. Kaboom!

Y'all's lack of sympathy and condescension is disconcerting to me. Y'all might as well be the lowly members of DU.

Fox News had something on earlier this morning that US Air released a statement, that it had been a hard landing, all passengers were in seatbelts, there were several "minor" injuries because the overhead bins opened and items fell out onto the passengers. All were looked at at the scene by firefighters and EMT's and signed release forms.

Last I heard....it was being speculated that he had a brain hematoma, just as the actress did a few months ago that had the skiing accident.  :(

Seems to me the jury's still out on whether or not Billy is worthy of "sympathy", Thor.

Did he have a seat belt on as the plane touched down and blew out a tire? Some reports say, no, he did not.

Did he bump his head as a result of not having a seat belt on? Some reports say yes, he did.

Did some items fall out of the overhead compartments, hitting Billy in the head? Some reports say yes, that happened. It's debateable as to whether or not that was Billy's fault - I'd say probably not.

Bottom line is, nobody knows at this point if Billy Mays died as the result of being stupid and violating what probably is a federal statute - failure to follow flight attendants' instructions to have his seat belt on until the "sign" is turned off by the captain.

I did say in one of my previous posts that this death is a tragedy - if for no other reason than Mays' family.

As for me, I'm withholding judgment until the autopsy results are published/leaked, assuming they will be.

That said, stupid is as stupid does.

Later this morning there was something about coronary heart disease.

I suppose the rough landing stressed the damaged heart more than it could stand.

Marathon of "Pitchmen" today in memorial to him. Booring as it is it beats the Jackson crap.

What was odd was a video clip of him on the plane talking to people, and then him in the airport. I don't know if it was just me, but he seemed to have an odd gait to his walk, as if there was a problem with his hips.

I believe I read he was scheduled to go in for hip replacement surgery this past Monday.
