Last Friday, we started sending faxes to Rep. Rangel's New York and DC offices asking him to send HR 676 to CBO for scoring. A short while into the campaign, Mr. Elbert Garcia called and complained about receiving too many faxes and emails in the New York office, so we stopped the faxes heading to NY, leaving the faxes going to the DC office only.

Mr. Garcia assured me that the faxes going to Washington would be attended to properly. Well, he was mistaken. It seems that Mr. Rangel's DC office has blcked our faxes since some time on Friday. Calls to his DC fax number are busy and all our faxes have been rejected for 'no carrier detected.'

Perhaps you would like to telephone Mr. Rangel's DC office at 202-225-4365 and ask why they are apparently blocking our faxes. You could also ask him to send HR 676 for scoring at CBO.

Mr. Rangle's office may tell you that Rep. Conyers himself can request that HR 676 go to CBO. My information is that Mr. Conyers has not made that request. Perhaps there is a reason.

You could ask about it by calling Mr. Conyers' office at 202-225-5126. You could also email Mr. Conyers' health care aide, Joel Segal, at joel.segal@house.mail.gov .
