nurses on Skins's island
« on: June 23, 2009, 03:51:56 PM »
It occurred to me earlier today that many of the Primitives of Prominence are registered nurses, or allegedly registered nurses.

And then I had a nightmare in mid-day, wondering how it would be, franksolich being a patient of theirs, and no recourse to another nurse.

Professional nurses have ethics, and by and large, they stick with those ethics.

But these are primitives, after all.

So it's a pretty chancey thing.

Probably I'd be shakily confident with the "TwilightGardener" primitive, once known as the "weinerdoggie" primitive, on the chancey hopes that her being a fellow Nebraskan would override her primitivity.  But please notice the "shakily;" actually, I'd feel better if the nurse were conservative or Republican and Christian, either only superficially or authentically.

Probably I'd be shakily confident with the Rita Hayworth primitive, the "Tangerine LaBamba" primitive--what she has going against her is that she's pretty old, but at the same time that's good too, because she was trained in a long-ago time when nurses were taught to be professional, not political, and that sense is perhaps still engrained in her.

Probably I'd be shakily confident with the baby-talking warped primitive; despite her giving cute teddy-bear nicknames to vegetables, all other times the warped primitive seems straightforward and direct, duty over feelings, but still, I'm not 100% confident.  Maybe 90%, which is not the same thing as 100%.

On the other hand, if Ms. Ed, the unappellated eohippus, were my nurse, I would just resign my Immortal Soul to God.  Ms. Ed has no feelings for soon-to-be-born infants; what guarantee is there that the unappellated eohippus has any feelings for other ages of human life?

She'd probably try to inject cyanide into my bloodstream or something.

I'd be only mildly nervous with the others as my nurse, but with Ms. Ed, I'd be very very very very very nervous, and even try to escape the hospital if I could.

There's other nurses, or alleged nurses, among the primitives on Skins's island, but it being 110 degrees in the shade here in the Sandhills of Nebraska, the brain is somewhat squiggish, and I can't recall them all.

Anybody recall any other nurses, or alleged nurses, on Skins's island, and have any feelings about having them as a nurse?

Damn it, I forgot another primitive nurse, even though I just only recently quoted her here; again, blame the Sandhills sun and heat.

Dorothy, the snobbish primitive, the "uppityperson" primitive, is a registered nurse, or allegedly a registered nurse.

She's kind of silly.

I'd trust her more than Ms. Ed, but considerably less than the other three previously mentioned.

edited to change "four" to the correct number "three"; sorry for the inconvenience

Just think, sometime in the future nurses will be required to take "Proper Pillow Application 443" and "Advanced Plug Pulling 444".

I have my doubts that Ms Ed is anything more than a nurses aid.

I have my doubts that Ms Ed is anything more than a nurses aid.

Well, yes, there exists considerable reasons for doubt.

A nurse's aide might make $24,000 a year, but I doubt a registered nurse is paid that little.

Also, Ms. Ed's posting is strongly suggestive of intensive keyboard work; a data-entry clerk at a hospital, perhaps?  Again, that might be a $24,000 a year job.
