Today is lug-nut jr's first day with a permanent, full-time job.

The weather here is unseasonably unreasonably hot and humid.

Is it Friday yet?   :-)

Awesome Lug!!!! Congrats to Jr.

It finally stopped raining here. Now it feel like a swamp outside.

Is it Friday yet for me too? :-) I really, really don't want to be here today. I'm the only one on my side of the office. It's so quiet in here!
I can see November 2 from my house!!!

No, my friends, there’s only one really progressive idea. And that is the idea of legally limiting the power of the government. That one genuinely liberal, genuinely progressive idea — the Why in 1776, the How in 1787 — is what needs to be conserved. We need to conserve that fundamentally liberal idea. That is why we are conservatives. --Bill Whittle

It's torridly hot in the Sandhills of Nebraska this morning, and is expected to be that way all week, at least.

Take Miami in August, double the relative humidity, and tack 15% onto the temperature, and that's what it's like.

It looks like it's going to be in the 90's all week. Thank goodness for air conditioning.

We are finally getting some normal California weather here.  80's expected today  :-)

Four day work week this week, then I'm off for a week and a half.

Great morning to play hooky and watch the end of the U.S. Open.  If it actually ends, that is.

It was supposed to be sunny and hot all week, right? So I ride the motorcycle to work, right?

I couldn't even get to work without a friggin' downpour and it's not stopped yet.  :banghead:

My yard is a swamp, the dog is perpetually terrified of thunderstorms, and I gotta ride home in this mess.  :thatsright:

Apart from that, am conducting a label printer validation today. Oh joy.

(I'm grateful to have work, though, let there be no mistake about that.)

Stop sending those storms this way!!!

Was rudely awakened at 5am by thunder....repeat of yesterday morning.

Have one cat that's been so traumatized by the storms she did a huge... :puke: ....not a hairball. Had to get M to clean it up....I couldn't do it.

Now the other 3 are starting to get scared when the wind blows ...

Had a closing scheduled for today.....lender doesn't have it out of underwriting yet and it still has to go through first time buyers lending approval. She called me at 10 last night...."oh yeah....guess I should have let you all know....." No shit Sherlock!! my seller is really pissed and the other agent is like "wellllll....it'll be okayyyyyyy, the buyer really wants the house..."   People in hell want ice water too.  :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

I think I need a job with no responsibility....with benefits....and lots of perks.

I'm thinking of running for Congress......
Just hand over the chocolate...back away slowly...far away....and you won't get hurt....

I was in your end of the state this weekend....that really was some storm Sunday morning.  Too bad all it did was increase the humidity.

What a craptastic day.  Started of by driving to the nearest "big" town, which is about 30 minutes away, to drop the truck off to get fixed.  Get there and they had no clue we were supposed to be there. :thatsright:.   Drive home, pick up my daughter, and drive BACK to same town to take her to the Dr.  She got stung by something between her toes Friday night, and her foot is all red and swollen.  Said it's fine, and it just takes time to heal.  Whatever.  Decide to swing by the grocery store...get food.  Keep in mind, I'm in the itty bitty car, with two kids (had my youngest with me, too).  Trunk full, back seat 1/2 full.

Driving home, get a call.  "Middle son" got hit in the with a ball, but he looks ok...just want to let you know".  MIddle son is at baseball practice for All-Stars.   Five minutes later, another call "Middle son" is getting a big lump, and his pupils are dilated, I think he needs to be taken in".  SO I drive to the field, still with all the crap in the car, and get middle son.  He's been hit right above the left eye with a line drive to third during batting practice.  Pick up son, cram all the stuff in the car, drive home, unload all the stuff into the driveway, leave oldest and youngest to get it all hauled in and put away, and off the same town, 30 minutes away, again, to the ER.

He's fine, aside for the lump and black eye...nothing broken, no concussion, thank goodness.

I think I need a drink.

Flame....I'll join you in the drink!!! Since that mean's we aren't drinking alone or driving...we can have at least 2!  Thank God your son is ok and the daughter's foot will be ok too!

I have spent the entire day on the phone trying to figure out this deal...extend and hope for the best....or chuck it and go with back up offer and hope for the best. My phone has had to be recharged 3 times, and in amongst all that we had another severe storm whip through.

Yesterday's storm killed the satellite feed to one of the tv's. All the others work, how come this one doesn't? M called Direct and they talked him through re-something with it and it didn't work...so they scheduled a tech to come out.....JUNE 30TH!!!!

Lug....we weren't hit by the afternoon storm, just got the winds and a bit of sprinky dinks. The bad ones were Thursday and Friday.... I'm so over this...
