Brooksville's new dress code requires deodorant, underwear
« on: June 14, 2009, 07:04:46 PM »
Quote
BROOKSVILLE — If you want to work for the city of Brooksville, be sure that you use deodorant, that your clothes fit properly and that you cover up your wounds and tattoos.

And, for goodness sake, wear underwear.

If not, you could violate the city's new dress code.

The Brooksville City Council approved a dress and appearance policy by a count of 4-1 this month, with only Mayor Joe Bernardini casting the dissenting vote. He questioned how the code would be interpreted and enforced.

"They said you had to wear undergarments," Bernardini said, "but who's going to be the judge of that? Sometimes when it comes to certain people going bra-less, it's obvious. But who's staring to see if that person doesn't have underwear on?"
  Floriduh!!

I can almost see the require for undergarments, but who has to be told to wear deodorant?  OTOH, I wish some people would not bathe in their perfume before going shopping.

And this mental midget's the mayor?  Hey, your honor, take a look-see how private industry handles it and copy them.

Hey! I'll volunteer to do it the old fashion way. I'll check undergarments on all the good looking women..... :-)

Well, after living in that area, and seeing what some people wear, I can see why a dress code might help!

I can understand it too. A family friend was chosen as the go-to person for a reporterette on a local news station. He works for John Deere and she was supposed to drive a tractor live for the morning show. He had to tell her to put on underware, or she would ahhhhhh, moon beaver, the morning crowd.   :hammer:

It's pretty sad when you have to make hygiene a company policy.

No, my friends, there’s only one really progressive idea. And that is the idea of legally limiting the power of the government. That one genuinely liberal, genuinely progressive idea — the Why in 1776, the How in 1787 — is what needs to be conserved. We need to conserve that fundamentally liberal idea. That is why we are conservatives. --Bill Whittle

My first thought when I heard this on the radio today was, " How many freaks do they have working in the City Government that they need to do this?"

Then I wondered how many of those peopelare going to have to work in the hot sun wearing long sleeved shirts because they had tats all over their arms.

I'm not so sure this underwear policy will fly.     :-)
