Palin's daughter was not the target of Letterman's joke
It should be obvious to anybody with an ounce of comedic common sense that Alex Rodriguez was the intended butt of Letterman's joke. Not only that, he even apologized for the joke, admitting it might have been in bad taste! What more does the right-wing crowd really want? This is nothing more than their Artificial Outrage of the Week.
PS - I'm sure that if Michelle Obama had been at the game, and Letterman made the same joke - sure, there would have been some outrage here on DU. But once Letterman apologized for it, I'm fairly sure that most of us would have let it go at that.
