WHY is the right so terrified of President Obama?
Edited on Wed Jun-10-09 06:30 AM by Philosoraptor
They appear to be literally shaking in their boots at the prospect of 4 to 8 years of Obama and the progressive movement. They are calling him every nasty name they can spit out, and they act as if America was somehow threatened with total destruction. THIS after the 8 most evil and corrupt years in our history.

Are they REALLY this terrified? Or is it simply hype designed to send all the dumb asses into a panic?

What the hell is it that frightens them so bad that they're wetting themselves?

1. They have been whipped into a frenzy for generations. The fear
is piggybacked onto the red scare of the 50's. Ignorant people will believe what specific sources tell them over ALL logic and rationality.

2. They're afraid he'll do a good job. They're afraid of his accomplishments.
At last, a DUmmie I can agree with, despite being right for the wrong reason. Yes, you idiots, we are afraid that Obama might succeed. Because if he does succeed, this entire country will look like Detroit, and Detroit will look like what it was in Robocop. And that's just for starters.

7. exactly - they really fear he will fix junior's financial mess and
(I think their biggest fear) he will end their precious war.
More like bring the war here like some of you wanted.

3. They are really afraid he will be like FDR - he will be successful,
he will actually help regular people to better lives, and may further decrease the GOP's list of supporters. If they didn't have the media in their pocket, they would have been done already.
Yesterday, there were several GOP talking heads complaining about Obama's terrible spending....but they were followed by the news that several of the TARP banks are now prepared to repay that money...

Then they said that the GOP had had a better plan for the stimulus package, but now we are hearing that the economy is doing better than expected and may be on the way to recovery late this year....

Then they complained that their play would have prevented all the recent job loss, and put people back to work, but Obama announced programs coming to provide 600,000 new jobs...

They hate him because he allows them to make themselves reveal how little they really have to offer, and morte people are starting to realize it.
They were wanting to repay that TARP money for a while now, but Obama wouldn't let them, and even then, he wouldn't accept all of it. Why? Control.

And the 600,000 jobs? How many of those are government jobs? I'd guess all of them. Meanwhile, the economy is continuing to hemorrhage jobs with no signs of letting up anytime soon.

4. They're not
They react to EVERY Democrat this way; there is nothing about Obama specifically that makes them do this. It's the mere fact that he is a Democrat occupying the Oval Office that makes them simultaneously pee and froth at the mouth. They've been at it since Carter at least. You may as well get used to it, they are going to get more and more outrageous in their attacks over the next 3 1/2 years. For them, this is how they win. Stop at nothing and tear down the opponent. It's absurd, dishonest, and it demeans the national discourse but sadly it often works.
Kind of like how you treated both Bushes, Reagan, Nixon, and probably Eisenhower.

5. True, but I sense a deeper paranoia from the right lately.
Many of the rushbots and other right wing cultists seem to be going over the deep end with their rhetoric and actions.
Cultists? We're not the ones calling Obama a god.

12. He's black.
Some of the right-wing crowd (think Palin mobs) are OVERT racists, but others are discovering their hatred of Obama is indeed quite simple: he's a black man.

They wouldn't have admitted -- or perhaps even identified -- that they're racist before, but they are embracing it now.

Anyone leading this country other than a white male is anathema to their existence. It threatens them. With the election of Obama, the world as they knew it came crashing down and they're terrified.

That's why they're doing all the "reverse racism" talk now. It's why they're clinging even more desperately to all the "this is a Christian nation" bible thumping and bringing up all the Moral Majority talking points again.

They are afraid.

They have a completely different worldview than we do, and they are afraid because theirs is disintegrating.

But, in the meantime, I believe they are very dangerous.
And of course, what DUmmie thread would be complete without using the race card? This whole nonsense is so bad now that it might as well be part of Godwin's Law.

8. I still think it's because he's not white like they are.
Sorry, but honestly I really think that's the bottom line. Everything else is just a a conduit for what really lies beneath.
And yeah, I'm white.

We're not terrified of him MoPaul...we're just wise to his game.

What "terrifies" us...is the sheer amount of people in this country that don't see him for what he is the way Conservatives do.

"Annoyed at voter stupidity and credulousness" or "Apprehensive about the consequences of his naive legislative agenda and bungling execution of same" would be more appropriate than "Terrified."

I know the DUmpmonkiees read this forum.
I am not "afraid" of Oblahma, DUmmies.

I do not want him/Government taking over the private sector...........this has been proven time and again to be a disaster.

I do not want single payer "health care". My private insurance is just fine. I don't need the Gov "punishing" me if I DONT WANT THEIRS.

READ THIS AGAIN DUMMIES, THE GOVERNMENT HAS NO BUSINESS RUNNING THE PRIVATE SECTOR. IT HAS NO BUSINESS TELLING PRIVATE COMPANIES HOW TO RUN THEMSELVES. THIS IS NOT THE SOVIET UNION.

“The national budget must be balanced. The public debt must be reduced; the arrogance of the authorities must be moderated and controlled. Payments to foreign governments must be reduced, if the nation doesn't want to go bankrupt. People must again learn to work, instead of living on public assistance.”

I dunno what the phalloscraping primitive's yapping about.

I'm not afraid of Pa Kettle in the White House.

In fact, it's like watching a half-hour television comedy show, Ma and Pa Kettle.

It is getting to be rather humorous watching the Obamas roam the globe for their silly little dates and to watch Obamalamadingdong come out on a daily basis and tell us how great things are when it's obvious things are getting worse, thanks to Pa Kettle and his clown car cabinet.

I say bring it on - the sooner the better - so we can get rid of the democrats in the house and senate in 2010.  The more they do, the worse things get and regardless of what the dummies think, the democrats won't be in power that much longer.  However, it is pretty clear from a lot of threads running at the DUmp, even they know what's going to happen.  And, most of the crapola passed by the dummocrats can be UNDONE.

I can already see the ads the GOP will be running - they will have so much material they will have to work with from just the past five months because we all know that Obama has given enough press conferences and said enough stupid stuff.

Fortunately, the GOP is raising more money and has more cash on hand than the DNC so there will be a lot of great GOP advertising going on soon.  I can't wait to see it.

Shove that up your azzzes, dummies!  You're going down.

I nor any of the conservatives are afraid of the affirmative action president. We are concerned with the policies that will bring economic destruction and grief to a huge majority of American citizens.

Personally, I lived through the Carter years of 12% inflation, 23% mortgage rates, and 11% unemployment.  It was very bad, very, very bad. However, my spidey sense tells me that we will all look back on those years as some very good times.

When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.
