Oh here we go with the poor people can't afford protein rich food--you mean like:
* Milk
* Soy Milk
* Eggs
* Cheese
* Yogurt
* Peanut Butter
* Lean Meats, Fish, and Poultry
* Beans, Tofu, Lentils, and other Legumes
* Grains, including bread and pasta
* Nuts and Seeds
Last I checked a shitload of those are covered by WIC vouchers for those who have children and one can certainly get a protein rich diet even if one leaves the most expensive of those out:Soy Milk, Meats, Nuts/Seeds, Tofu.
Milk and Eggs have all been back down in price in my area. I have about 6 dozen eggs in the fridge that I got for .98 a dozen and I just got a gallon of milk at Aldi's for 1.69 a gallon. Peanut butter for the medium sized jar has been as low as 1.00 at Kroger in recent weeks(I invested a whole 6 bucks and stocked up--we still have peanut butter in there from that), Cheese has also been in the 1.00 to 1.67 range for bars, shredded, and slices. Beans are inexpensive and make a lot for one bag. Grains have also been on sale.
Everything I've listed has been far cheaper then the 2.00 a bag doritos or the 2.50 frozen food crap. I call bullshit..once again, but they'll continue with the screed.
