is my wife of a little over 10 years now, master's in music education, accomplished violinist/violist/pianist, lifetime certification in Missouri public schools to teach K-12 vocal, instrumental/strings; also certified in Ohio and Utah public schools; was offered two part-time jobs teaching elementary music, choir, and strings. The two part-time jobs equate to something like 0.81 of a regular full-time position.
No benefits.
It's the first teaching gig she's been offered or had since 2005. In the meantime, she's been an executive recruiter, worked in a temp staffing agency, and most recently, worked as a part-time church secretary for $10 an hour.
She starts, assuming the school board approves the job offer, in mid-August.
We are grateful.
