FRIDAY!!!111 Woot And Rejoice!!!!
« on: June 05, 2009, 08:42:10 AM »
Happy Friday you sorry lot!  :cheersmate:

It's a gorgeous day outside by us today.  High 60's and breezy, lotta sunshine.  Going to stay nice today through evening.

We had a young (Holy crap when 24 is young you know you are getting up there, lol!) Veterinary student who is doing an externship at my wife's company over for dinner last night.  Really sweet and super smart kid. I got to cook up a little turkey which was a nice break from whole wheat pasta and bunny food. Okay we still had a ton of stir-fry veggies with it but it felt pretty decadent.

I am heading out this afternoon with my Missus for a weekend by ourselves with no rug rats underfoot.  We are driving west to the Mississippi River near Prairie Du Chen to spend some time hiking and sightseeing.  My oldest is holding down the home fort and babysitting the Mancub.

And we decided today that in two weeks the Mancub and I are going to fly to Washington DC to hook up with Mrs. asdf2231 in the middle of a business/professional conference trip she has out there. We are going to spend 5 days out there doing the touristy things while she is attending lectures and stuff. The litttle guy is really excited about seeing the Smithsonian stuff.

I haven't been back to DC proper since we moved from there in '02.  The airline flight was literally dirt cheap.  I dumped a bunch of frequent flyer miles and we are booked 1st class for $210 round trip for both of us.  :yahoo:  I also have a few really good friends I haven't seen out there for a few years.  And a lot of my wife's old Army companions are still serving and working there.  Should be pretty fun.

I officially hit one month cigarette free yesterday. :)

Congrats on the one month--you're over the hard part.

OT has been authorized for Sundays now as well, provided we don't exceed NRC rules for working hours (72 in a week).

8 on Saturday, 8 on Sunday (double time), 12's Monday-Thursday, 8 on Friday.  It'll be nice to pay some bills off for a change.

Very awesome asdf! :cheersmate: Congrats on the smoke-freeness and enjoy your weekend rendezvous without children :naughty: :-)

I'm just doing some grocery shopping this am and then it is off for a long day at the pool. First day for my kids at the pool and now that a bunch of my girlfriends I work out with go there(along with a couple instructors), I can no longer hide quietly in my corner and hope nobody sees my big butt :-) JK, it will be fun and my butt and everything else doesn't really qualify as 'big' anymore--I have a feeling though that we all will be checking out how our daily 'party' sessions at the gym have paid off for us individually in those swimsuits...Anyway, the pool is a lot more fun when you get to interface with other adults. More eyes on the kids too and that's a tremendous help to me with the autsie. Should be fun and I can start getting that tan a bit more noticable.  :-)

Another rainy day here...probably no baseball tonight.  One child home, last day for the other 2.

Nothing too exciting planned for today.

55 degrees and pouring rain again!! Grrr...I guess I should be thankful it's not 90 yet.

ASDF that sounds like fun!!! The recently re-opened the American History Museum (last Nov) and it's been completely renovated. I'm kind of anxious to go see it myself.

You'll have a blast here with the little guy. Make sure to check out the WWII memorial.
I can see November 2 from my house!!!

No, my friends, there’s only one really progressive idea. And that is the idea of legally limiting the power of the government. That one genuinely liberal, genuinely progressive idea — the Why in 1776, the How in 1787 — is what needs to be conserved. We need to conserve that fundamentally liberal idea. That is why we are conservatives. --Bill Whittle

Went to the Orthopædic surgeon yesterday for my knees. Turns out that my osteo-arthritis isn't as bad as the VA thought. That's a good thing. As I have always suspected, there appears to be some sort of chronic soft tissue injury that can probably be corrected by arthroscopic surgery. Thanks a LOT, Navy Docs !! Y'all dropped the ball, once again!!  :censored: (Two decades+ of pain and inconvenience)  Hopefully, this will get me somewhat more normal as for walking, etc.

Sounds like good news. You have had a long battle with your knees. I can't think of any pain that is worse then knee pain.  Ouch.
