ABC News' Jake Tapper and Sunlen Miller report: The other day we heard a comment from a White House aide that never would have been uttered during the primaries or general election campaign.

During a conference call in preparation for President Obama's trip to Cairo, Egypt, where he will address the Muslim world, deputy National Security Adviser for Strategic Communications Denis McDonough said "the President himself experienced Islam on three continents before he was able to -- or before he's been able to visit, really, the heart of the Islamic world -- you know, growing up in Indonesia, having a Muslim father -- obviously Muslim Americans (are) a key part of Illinois and Chicago."

Given widespread unease and prejudice against Muslims among Americans, especially in the wake of 9/11, the Obama campaign was perhaps understandably very sensitive during the primaries and general election to downplay the candidate's Muslim roots.

Maybe that is why he has been so quiet about the Muslim terrorist that shot two soldiers and killed one of them.

He can't speak about it without either mentioning the shooters faith, or drawing attention to it by not mentioning it.  He's going to visit homeland, he doesn't want to rile them up.  Some say that is why he didn't want the photographs released, yet.

It was not just "the Obama campaign," it was Obama himself. And it was not just an effort to "downplay the candidate's Muslim roots," it was an effort to deny those roots altogether. Obama claimed to be a Christian!

Even now, ABC won't tell us the whole truth. I cannot discern whether they are trying to cover for themselves (since they did a lousy job of reporting on this 8 months ago), or if they are covering for Obama (since they love him so much). Maybe both.

On Fox News this morning they are saying that 0Bama may "stress" his time living in Muslim countries and his Muslim roots.  I don't see that happening myself, because I thought that to be an Ex-Muslim was worse than never being a Muslim.

As far as they're concerned, it all means he's really a Muslim "Inside."  John McCain deserved to lose for going over-the-top PC on this alone, aside from all the other reasons he deserved to lose.

Some Muslims will see him as an apostate, worthy only of death.  Otheys will see him as a true Muslim, who has been lying to non-believers to gain an advantage for Allah as per the Qur'an. The post mortem message from Usama seems to say he feels the fortmer is the case.  :naughty: :popcorn:

You know, my wife has said that Mr. Obama is not Christian, but a closet Muslim all along. Reason, it is not possible to follow non Rev. Wright and be Christian. I am begining to be concerned that she is absolutly correct.

I was told by several Dems at CU roughly 2 years ago that I was "ignorant" after I suggested that he would become more bold in revealing his true convictions once he had gained the office of President. Ah, vindication is bittersweet.
