$50 billion dollars of US govt. money invested in GM and my neighbor goes out and buys a Volkswagen
He was bragging to me about how the speedometer goes to 150 MPH. I said wow! But isn't purchasing cars from our governments competitor in the auto business kind of unpatriotic I asked?
He didn't answer and changed the subject.
I let it go.
Let him think about it.

Your neighbor knows that you're an 0Bamabot and wanted to get away from you, right?

5. If it's the one that meets his needs, fine.
The whole idea of competition is that you get to buy the car you actually want, not the one someone else thinks you should buy. I would much prefer that the US car companies become competitive by offering vehicles that are attractive to consumers.

6. My VW's been rudely pointing and laughing at GM cars all day.
Ooops, a couple of more people to report to Dear Leader.

43. Years ago, I got hit while driving a Ford Thunderbird.
I was hit very, very hard. The glass Moonroof popped out of the roof. The policeman who arrived on the scene first told me I was lucky I wasn't driving some little foreign car, as the paramedics would likely be "picking my face out of the windshield" if I had been.
I walked away from the accident with a few minor bruises.
Um, yeah AndyAhole, about those small death traps? Guess what cars Government Motors will be producing to meet the new CAFE standards and pollution controls? That's right, little teeny tiny death traps.
