Quickie day thread(Tuesday)
« on: February 19, 2008, 06:53:35 AM »
Morning peeps.  :-* I got a boatload of household stuff and some errands to run today...the usual situation. How goes it?

Still freezing...again. :banghead:  but we are heading into late February so spring, at least the start of it, isn't much more then a few weeks away..I can not wait!

TOTD: One quote that sums up who you are and what you are about.

'Arriving at one point is the starting point of another.'

I think this is true for me...I'm always moving towards something...whether it be cultivating a friendship, a degree, or future activities...probably too much so that I need to step back more and appreciate the present. I just like to set goals and attain them, but I never seem to be done with setting goals. How about you folks? I know there are several that could apply in your different areas of life, pick one.

Snow here.  Not sticking as it is 35+ degrees, but all the local  :censored: drivers are still doing 20 mph below the speed limit.   :banghead:

Had a really full weekend!

Friday night, I saw the best live show I've ever seen in my life. The Levon Helm Band played in Philly. The guy is 67 years old and he played a 3-hour killer show. I've been to dozens of concerts. This one was the best ever.

On Saturday, we had a funeral service for my uncle. He was a real father figure to me after my dad died when I was 11.  He was a WWII vet. His cremated remains will be buried with full military honors in Arlington in April.

Sunday, my wife and I atteneded a real-life dinner party. We ate with other adults! It was great.

We have no internet service at home right now.

Yesterday we all just hung out as a family. Relaxing and nice!

God alone suffices.

Splash, that sounds like a wonderful weekend! Anymore, some of our best times as a family are out of the home away from technology to be totally honest. When we can get where we are focused on just each other. That's a bit easier up here in the warmer months, but you make a good point(maybe without knowing it) that we could all benefit from days of turning all the electronics off and just hanging out with our families.

Fun times for me today...today is my annual smashogram (mammogram).  Gotta love it....not.   But, I want to be around to spoil grandkids, so I do what I can to take care of myself!

Good news yesterday at the dentist...neither of the boys had cavities!  Yay! :cheersmate:  We'll see what happens when I take my daughter on Friday.

No, my friends, there’s only one really progressive idea. And that is the idea of legally limiting the power of the government. That one genuinely liberal, genuinely progressive idea — the Why in 1776, the How in 1787 — is what needs to be conserved. We need to conserve that fundamentally liberal idea. That is why we are conservatives. --Bill Whittle

Well, today's been alright so far.  I'm in between classes right now, but will try to find time to finish packing up for tomorrow and study for my Literature mid-term.

I really hope I get through this week.  I have no classes on Friday either, so I might drive to Tybee Island for a day trip.

TOTD:  Have yet to find one that really represents me.   :(

I am thinking about going back to school so I am going to do some running around today, make some phone calls. It is something I have been putting off for quite some time now and now I think I am ready. :) It all depends on if my SIL is willing to watch her during the day. If not, it might be a evening thing.

TOTD: I don't really have one.

Muah!  Our "new, shorter hours" at work may soon be coming to an end.  We got three pallets of systems in today, and that didn't count the pallet we had left over from yesterday.

Looks like I may be back to getting up at 4:30.  It was a nice break.   :-)

I swear, I started to type that out this morning and got distracted. That quote is my mantra.
