I want a cabin in the mountains.
« on: May 26, 2009, 08:06:11 PM »
Nothing extravagant. But a nice A Frame cabin would be cool. a sleeping loft, big glass windows overlooking a vista view, a couple of kittens, a pair of rocker recliners near the fireplace. maybe a garden outside. And an internet connection. with satellite TV. a jacuzzi. A Hummer to get to town and back.

you know, all the things needed for the simple life. Like supermodel twins to share all this with. Something everyone should have.
Yeah its a day dream. In real life I could have 40 wives and I just know they would ALL be mad at me at the same time.

So its good to keep it simple. Supermodel twins. nice simple. I could deal with that.

And ya know the great thing would be no DUmmies. They don't own SUVs. No door to door salesmen.

I had a dream...to live in a condo overlooking the Atlantic Ocean in Miami Beach...Lived there from 2001-2005...complete with floor to ceiling glass windows.

I decided I wanted more room than my 1350sq foot condo can provide...so I bought a townhouse in Palm Beach, 15 minutes from the beach...I have regretted this decision..but have come to terms with it...I don't have the Atlantic Ocean as my "backyard"..but I do have more closets with junk..... :whatever:

Live and Learn...one day I hope to make it back to the beach.

I want an underground house...the kind with passive solar heat during the winter and no need for A/C during the summer.   Lots of trees and vines around it, massive wood timbers holding it up, lots of windows...with heavy-duty insulating curtains or shades.  A small, attached greenhouse.  Enough timber around to be able to cut firewood for extra heat in the winter.  NO NEIGHBORS, unless they're furry and run on all fours.  Maybe a pond.  **sigh**

I think I'll continue to make-do with my little, bitty HUD built house.  Mr Smith LIKES normal.   :(

If I ever won the Powerball - or if WHEN the Malmo ever hits the Mixmaster - I've got an island picked out in the middle of a lake in the Colorado Rockies.  It's about 300 yards by 900 yards, and over a mile in any direction to shore, has a nice little cove I can anchor my sailboat in (for making runs out to National Forest land for hunting, fishing and weekend jaunts with the family), and is thickly wooded enough that I can build a quiet little cabin, out of the line of fire.  I've already got 40 amps worth of Solar panels laid up for emergency power generation, a bank of deep cycle batteries, and 12v inverters to power what little electrical needs I'd have, and having camped up there before, I know I've got good cell coverage there for phone and internet communications.

Those pre-manufactured log cabins start at $10k for the lumber and assembly plans.  I guess putting it together is the expensive part. :p

As for me and my house, I'd prefer living in an America that more closely resembles the country our founding fathers bled to create, than this socialist utopian nightmare that ReichsMessiah Øbama is trying desperately to shove up our asses before the next "election".
