Thanks for asking Flame.  We are planning on going either this weekend or the beginning of next week.  Kevin has to call the realtors today to see if they have time to show us around.

Our house is officially up for sale today.  The sign is in the yard and the lock box is on the door.  The realtor took pictures today and it should be in the MSL deal online by this evening.  I have worked my butt off over the past two weeks cleaning out EVERY (and I do mean EVERY) closet, drawer and cabinet, touching up baseboards/walls and cleaning everything from top to bottom.  I decided to go through all of our clothes and other things now rather than when we move so we had a ton of stuff for charity (I'm talking a pickup truck full of stuff) and we still have more in the garage to drop off at Christian Community Action.  I went through my closet THREE times weeding clothes out of it.  The first go around I didn't have much, the second time I did much better but by the third time I asked myself how long have I had it and when was the last time I wore it.  Our closets (as well as the kids closets) are so organized and they look so spacious.  I also sorted the clothes we did keep by color and type.  I think I have OCD.....seriously.

Wow BEG!!! Who needs Designed to Sell with you around! ;-) I'm impressed. I can remember some of the photos you've posted before of the inside of your house (parts of it) and I can remember it being REALLY clean. I bet it looks fantastic!

I can see November 2 from my house!!!

No, my friends, there’s only one really progressive idea. And that is the idea of legally limiting the power of the government. That one genuinely liberal, genuinely progressive idea — the Why in 1776, the How in 1787 — is what needs to be conserved. We need to conserve that fundamentally liberal idea. That is why we are conservatives. --Bill Whittle

The house probably wasn't as clean as it looked online.  I notice everything so I probably shoved crap out of frame when I took a picture.   :p

Don't depress me more than I already am.  While cleaning and touching up things in this house we fell in love with it all over again.  Our backyard was so much work and the floor plan is just perfect for us.  The best thing of all is the house is well with in our means (mortgage wise) and it is so nice to have quite a bit of money left over every month.  It affords us to pay for our sons college plus other incidentals as well has allows us to save quite a bit every month.  I'm not looking forward to being house poor at all.  :(

It's going to work out fine.  The Lord will provide.  I know it's not fun to have your life turned upside down without much warning, but really, this could be the time of your life.

BEG - the good thing is that someone else will come along and love your house too. All of your hard work, while bittersweet, will help in the long run because it will sell easier. And who knows? Maybe the new house will give you more fun projects and a chance to do even more.

*I'm trying to cheer you up :-)

Heh. Sounds like my photos. :-)

This reminds me of the time my uncle was going to take a photo of my son as he was sitting at the table chowing on a sandwich.  I ran got a plate, a napkin, a fork, and a glass of milk.

Amen to that!! Been there, done that. My life's still in some sort of disarray. It'd be nice to find a decent job, but there aren't many around. I THOUGHT I had one, but that didn't work out.

BEG--send me some In-N-Out double-doubles.  About 50 will do for starters.

Also, you're going to have to try Anita's down in Fullerton.  KILLER carne adovada and sopapillas.

Well, there is ONE advantage in living in LA.

While at LAX on the way to Hawaii last week, Mrs E and I LITERALLY ran into Ben Stein, dressed in his traditional suit and sneakers.

Now, Ben Stein's a good guy. I had occasion to write him an email a few years ago on one of those editorials he does on CBS' Sunday Morning, and he actually wrote back.

So the whole LAX experience wasn't the goat rope I'd thought it would be. Entirely, that is....

BEG emailed me this today.  It's in the prestigious La Jolla Palms area.  Only $420,000.

She's excited!

Hawk, it's CA.  Try about 82 inside.  It's to the point they don't even bother reporting it anymore unless they find at least 50 in a 3-br house, 20 in a car, or the ensuring wreck as they try to outrun the Border Patrol/cops kills at least 5.

Sorry if I sound cynical or grotesque, but it is what it is.
