The male teacher couldn't speak a word, and my daughter's female homeroom teacher smirked at the male teacher and giggled.

For the love of God, idiot, at least TRY. A 14-year-old doesn't say anything like that. A teacher doesn't say anything like that. A lunchroon is never silenced by anything.

I haven't seen another obvious bouncy give away mentioned yet.  It was a TEACHER that said it to her.  Not liberal teacher would say that, more likely he would have said "atta boy' to her.
