That is some good news.

I got to the polling station at 7:30, and the attendants said I was the first person to come and vote.  Most of my coworkers didn't even seem to realize that there was an election today.

I should clarify that's for 1A.

Voting yes for: 1B

San Francisco
Alameda
Santa Clara

1C

San Francisco

1D

None

1E

None

1F

Well, that's way too many. Only Del Norte County is "No" so far.

Wow, the county numbers are going up, up, up in the "NO" category.  Orange County nearly 74%

The only people doing the exact opposite are the ones that voted for San Fran Nan.

I looked in at DU a while ago.  I found nothing about the election in The Latest.  I did find some all a-twitter about voting for the gay guy on "American Idol", and the fact there's a rumor the CSC will rule on Prop. 8 Thursday - and it ain't going their way.

I wonder how the primitives on Skins's island are taking this.

I've got too many windows open here, so can't go over.

Anybody know?

Just a look-see, no thread needed posted here, to see how they're taking it.

Just one thread that I can see.  Only one post with a link to the results.  No comments from the DUmmies yet.

I've been doing this for a while, Mike, sir.

I just spit out the numbers, and let everybody else do the background and color commentary.

But one's wholly welcome to do as one wishes.

They seem really slow about getting those congressional numbers in.

You suppose the corrupt big-city bosses are arguing about which Democrat candidate they're supposed to be creating votes for?

Early returns show little support for budget propositions (CA)

Source: LA Times

In a stiff rebuke to Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger and legislative leaders, Californians in early returns were dismissing a package of special-election ballot measures that the officials said were critical to the state's solvency but triggered anger and indifference among voters.

The sole state proposition winning as early returns were released tonight was another repudiation of elected officials -- a measure that would ban pay hikes for legislators and state officeholders when the state is running a deficit.

In local contests, a brawling race for city attorney ended with former Deputy Dist. Atty. Carmen "Nuch" Trutanich holding a slight lead over City Councilman Jack Weiss.
