Fear of flying why Steelers' Harrison will skip White House visit

Steelers linebacker James Harrison gave little reason for not wanting to join his teammates for their visit to the White House Thursday.

A well-placed source, however, later revealed the real reason for Harrison's reluctance to make the trip: He has a fear of flying and is a "wreck" whenever he must take team flights.

"Let me ask you a question," Harrison asked reporters who greeted him coming off the practice field today. "Why is it a big issue now that I'm not going if it wasn't a big issue the last time?"

Harrison, a backup linebacker for the Steelers when they won Super Bowl XL, did not join his teammates three years ago when they visited the White House of President George Bush.

Because The Messiah demands tribute, serf

It wasn't a big issue last time because a REPUBLICAN PERSON was in the White House, and the press doesn't like people who are Republicans. Any slight of a REPUBLICAN PERSON, especially by a BLACK PERSON, is not only not controversial, but is encouraged.

Now that The Messiah is in the White House, the press will savage anyone with the temerity to turn down a chance to kiss his ring and ogle the First Lady's bare, toned biceps. Just thank the stars you're a BLACK PERSON, James Harrison, or you'd be an even bigger news story (R-A-C-I-S-T).

And with that, he became my favorite Steeler.*

I wish the DUmp were around during the Clinton years when the entire Ryder Cup golf team wanted to boycott the White House visit.  1993, I believe.  The captain (Tom Watson, also a staunch Republican) declared that Pres. Clinton was the "first golfer in chief", and we would be happy to visit.  And they did before going over to England or wherever.

The DUmp would have been a madhouse during that event.
