We are worried about how torture pics will be viewed by Muslims when *this* is hitting the press?
 If this doesn't produce a meltdown in the Muslim press I don't know what will or what should for that matter.

This was sent to the President of the "Christian Nation" who actually used the word "crusade" in referring to retribution for 9/11.

3. Bible quotes on top secret war debriefings..
 It's time to separate church and state for real. I mean it, this "Christian Nation" crap needs to stop now. Wasn't one of the main reasons the US was founded was to get away from this religious persecution?

Uh, yeah, the Pilgrims, maybe. Actually, due to religious persecution of Christians by other Christians. Neither the Pilgrims, nor the Founding Fathers would, in their wildest dreams, have considered Mohammedism a legitimate religion. (Though I'm not sure Pilgrims even had wild dreams.)

Actually, the main reason for this post is that I noticed good ol' DUmmy "walldude", an all-time all-star doofus on a board teeming with doofuses. Walldude is the DUmmy who once bragged about sabotaging his employer in such detail that both he and his employer could be identified. An alert lousy Freeper, concerned about the effect this sabotage might have on the employer's business, made the appropriate contacts. DUmmy walldude was summarily fired, entering the normal DUmmy condition of unemployment. He promptly returned to the DUmp, complaining loudly about the injustice he had suffered, and cementing his designation as an all-time all-star doofus. His story should be retold once in a while to keep his legend alive. The lousy Freeper who nailed him may not be a Buckhead-level hero, but was no less vigilant.

Wasn't walldude working for a Christian type company?  Doing like Christian videos or selling Christian videos/music ..... or something to do with CHRISTIANS?

Weren't these folks supplying him with dope money?  Now it is broke and living on the edge while slipping into delusions when it thinks 'right wingers' may be reading its posts.  I think it posted one time about how well it was doing since it got canned by the 'rethuglicans' but when you read the rest of its posts it becomes apparent that walldude is like 1/4 of a paycheck from being a homeless DUmmie with *gasp* no way to pay for highspeed internet!

Okay, first of all, there is no "separation of church and state".  That phrase was taken from a Thomas Jefferson letter, where he promised that the government would not infringe on the rights of a church (kind of the opposite of how DUmmies want to apply it).

Secondly, lets look at the phrase "freedom of religion."  When freedom of speech is applied, it means that people have the right to say what they please, not that people are protected from hearing speech they disagree with.  Freedom of press means that the press can print what it pleases, not the people are protected from exposure to newspapers they dislike.  Therefore, it would stand to reason, that freedom of religion means that people can practice whatever religion they so choose, not that people are protected from exposure to religions that they do not belong to.

Why is this so difficult to understand?

Strangely enough, the OP didn't post a link, and the only things I can find regarding that picture they posted are all lefty blogs. (common dreams and the like)

Nothing from legitimate news sources.

I have found this. ABC News links to a story from GQ Magazine, notable for hard hitting news. :sarcasm:

Rumsfeld's Biblical Message-Laden Intelligence Briefs

ABC News' Jennifer Parker reports: Former Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld prepared top-secret military intelligence briefs for former President George W. Bush with cover sheets featuring triumphant images from the Iraq war with "Crusades-like" Bible messages, according to an exclusive report in the latest June issue of GQ magazine.

The briefs, known as the Worldwide Intelligence Update, were prepared by Rumsfeld and often hand-delivered to Bush, and only circulated among a handful of Pentagon leaders and the president, according to GQ's Robert Draper.

A March 31, 2003 brief cover-sheet depicted a U.S. tank roaring through the desert with a biblical quote from Ephesians: "Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand."

The full armor of God:

Quote
Eph 6:11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil.

 Eph 6:12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual {forces} of wickedness in the heavenly {places.}

 Eph 6:13 Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm.

 Eph 6:14 Stand firm therefore, HAVING GIRDED YOUR LOINS WITH TRUTH, and HAVING PUT ON THE BREASTPLATE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS

 Eph 6:15 and having shod YOUR FEET WITH THE PREPARATION OF THE GOSPEL OF PEACE

 Eph 6:16 in addition to all, taking up the shield of faith with which you will be able to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil {one.}

 Eph 6:17 And take THE HELMET OF SALVATION, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God

 Eph 6:18 With all prayer and petition pray at all times in the Spirit, and with this in view, be on the alert with all perseverance and petition for all the saints,

Their idea of freedom of speech is the Frankfurt  school of thought.  It stipulates that any of speech, print, or belief that does not conform to Marxist  victim/oppressor dichotomy must be silenced.  This is the reasoning that we see behind university speech codes.  Of course, the college professor president of ours is now trying to do the same thing on a national level, that is what hate crime laws essentially are.

Ok DUmmies...first off that old saying about "there are no athiests in foxholes" is true in my experience in Somalia AND Iraq...and secondly...my personal Biblical passage that gave me strength in OIF was PSALM: 23.  A very appropriate one considering where I was at.
