A trip to NYC. (Large pictures warning)
« on: May 14, 2009, 07:15:01 PM »
Even though it is only about 3 1/2 hours away I hadn`t been there since a 5th grade trip in 1975.
Took a couple days off to meet up with a friend from Germany who was vacationing for a week.

The Big Apple...

Times Square.

Ground Zero under construction.

A beautiful lady in the background.

From the observation deck of the Statue.

Still awesome to see in person.

The skyline from Central Park.

Cool pictures.  That first one screams 'sensory overload'.
This post is disruptive, hurtful, rude, insensitive, over-the-top, or otherwise inappropriate.

As a hayseed from upstate imagine what it is like in person when you get there.
Hundreds of people in any direction you look, cars, taxis and buses moving nonstop with horns blaring.
Street music playing constantly.

It doesn`t take long though to start shutting those things out as needed so that you can be walking along and feel like there isn`t anyone else really there.

The city is a lot nicer then when I was there before, few bums or vagrants and for the most part folks were polite as you walked around.

I don't mind visiting NYC for a day or two, but that's about all I can take.  Great pics!

City?  What is that?

Oh yeah--concentration of liberals.  Nevermind.  Guess I'm not missing much.
