It seems like everytime the American people start getting to the point of being reasonable about legalizing pot the government has a 'just released. current study' that explains how really dangerous pot is The claims, this has been discussed here before the 'average' potency of pot has gone up. This just means that growers and sellers aren't selling shit weed anymore. I would like to get my hands on some of that stuff they say has 30% THC content. Just think of the hash you could make out of that! Disphoria? Basically they get depressed? Personally I have never seen anybody have this reaction to pot but I guess if you were prone to depression most recreational drugs would probably not help a lot. Paranoia? Yeah for that fifteen minutes your sitting in front of the 7/11 deciding who is going to go in and buy the Doritos. 'You go in. No you. I'm too stoned they'll know. Me too. Yeah but I got the munchies. Hey do I smell like pot. No? Okay I'll go in but if they call they cops be ready to get out of here!'. Can't really address 'other negatives' because I have no idea what they mean unless its the old cannards about 'kills brain cells', 'screws up your sperm', 'causes cancer' and of course we can't forget the oldie but goodie 'it causes minority men (notice only has this effect on minorities for some reason) to rape white women (only white women for some reason weird drug).This report is a prime example of why we can't have a reasonable discussion in this county about how to approach the the idea of adults using recreational drugs, specifically marijuana, and how to help those that abuse and have problems with those same drugs. The prohibition supporters are not willing to have a factual discussion they believe they are so right that is imperative that everybody believes every drug is as bad as possible. Therefore the incessant propaganda pieces running out the same old tripe that has been disproved over and over again. Until you can get these people to acknowledge that prohibition as a solution doesn't work and get them to stop spreading propaganda it will be very difficult to convince enough people to support legalization. We must fight back with the facts. Right now it appears that legalization as a solution is gaining traction but those that support that idea must continue to educate the American people and counter act these insipid propaganda piece.

If they would come out with a good standard that was 15% THC, and sell only that but let specailty companies to sell higher stuff where it is allowed. Like beer, in Utah you can only have 3.2% alcohol but most other states the limit is 6 or 8%. Why not have a set standard that the majority of all places observes.

That's the idea If pot was legalized part of the process would be how to label different grades of pot along the line of 'proof' on alcohol. In some cases you might have a state regulate the maximum THC content along the same lines that some states don't allow the selling of alcohol products like Everclear which is 180 proof. Finalizing the process of commercializing pot might take awhile with all the packaging rules (can you buy in bulk or just joints), can you add any adulterants like they do to tobacco, truth in labeling, on and on and on but with tobacco and alcohol as examples I'm sure it could be done in a reasonable amount of time.
