Cleveland: 50 year-old man begging for job at McDonalds

Just stopped at a McDonald's to grab a cup of java and overheard something that made me very sad.

A 50-year old man begging for a job there. The older lady working there said they weren't accepting applications at this time and asked him where he worked.

He went on to say that he worked for RTA (public transportation) as a bus driver and got laid off. The lady said that she assumed that his job would be safe. He replied "With so many people out of work, they're not taking buses anywhere...they have nowhere to go."

Times are bad....real bad and there is no light at the end of the tunnel....especially here in Cleveland. :(

Funny, I thought with mr hope n change at the helm, this kind of thing wouldn't happen.

Clearly, the answer is higher taxes and more government spending on welfare.
When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

Exactly, that way we all will be begging for jobs at Mikey D's  :rotf:

Why put down the bong and get off the couch if you make just as much sitting on your ass as you do flipping burgers?

A friend an I were talking last night about unemployment and how some people manage to live comfortably off the checks they get. They get quite content to sit on the couch all day watching their stories. This is the kind of society the dummies want.

The guy must have been Cleveland's only Republican. He lost his job and instead of sitting on his ass waiting for a hand out, he went looking for work.
Come to think of it, unions do create jobs. Companies have to hire two workers to do the work of one.

Doubt he was a republican.  Most bus drivers work for unions.

I was both hourly and salary for GM. I worked for GM for 30 years.  I would guess (a guess mind you- SWAG) that 35 to 40% of UAW hourly workers are Republicans. Union leadership is jamb packed with moonbats. International will remove anyone in a union position who doesn't follow their mandates.

From what I've heard, and in my own experience in government unions, I'd agree with you.

7. if you boil
a frog in water starting on a low temp and gradually raise it, it won't complain or try to escape either.

we need to reclaim our manufacturing and producing jobs, not jobs that produce nothing like finance.

To start with DUmbass, that slow boil you're talking about is the United Auto Workers slowly screwin' the hell out of the people who keep them working!

The only way you're going to reclaim anything DUmbass, is to get your buddies at the frikkin' union to concede they are the one's bringing down the American made auto!
