One of the moderators--the mad monk--put up a thread telling people that it was inevitable that people wouldn't like the Messiah's Supreme Court nominee, and that we were not to disagree. Then some of the progressive and GLBT posters pointed out that the thread was obvious flamebait and broke the mod rule that moderators were expected to hold themselves to a higher standard. Then Skinner came in and said that anyone that didn't like the majority sentiment (i.e. the Democratic Party dictation) that we were free to leave his site.

Four bannings--Solon, Yardwork, Vanje, and Runcible Spoon--came about in the first wave. All for pointing out that the OP was an open call out to DUers, which would be against the rules there. Marrah_G and Techbear got banned the next day for having the audacity to point out that four longtime GLBT posters had gotten sent packing. Sundog got banned, apparently, for wondering what was going on and why the GLBT forum was full of "message removed" the next day.

Any positive mention of the people banned, even in Lounge say-something-nice threads was also removed. The 7 are effectively scrubbed.

All so that the GLBT and ally and progressive community would know that we're neither wanted nor needed there.

     I'm guessing that DU is the least significant and influential website that takes its talking points directly from Rahm Emanuel. The Messiah and his minions play hardball, and liberals not named Obama or Emanuel are starting to realize exactly what it is they've signed up for.
